- sindex, on 10/17/2009, -0/+47Helicopter suit? Penguin suit? Ice block powers? ***** yeah!
- palehorse864, on 10/17/2009, -2/+34Just don't make people do things like "Jerk the wiimote upward to jump" "Spin the wiimote to twist attack" etc. At least from what the video shows, it looks like a classic Mario platformer which would work perfectly with Dpad and buttons. If they have a cool use for the wiimote though that couldn't just be done with buttons it would be cool.
Don't make it gimmicky. - Sloi, on 10/17/2009, -3/+34Either the game is really easy and/or has some sort of "aim/jump assist", or the people playing in the first video are ***** amazing at SMB.
- mickhead, on 10/17/2009, -0/+27I think its most likely that it was developers who've been playing it for ages so they're pretty damn good at it by now.
- kspanks04, on 10/17/2009, -1/+26Looks like an orgy of Mario's 1-3, can't wait. The controller will be what makes or breaks this game though.
- jaytek13, on 10/17/2009, -0/+18Were you in a coma 2 years go when Galaxy came out?
- zero, on 10/17/2009, -0/+17Welcome back Mario. I have waited 18 years for this game.
- YumYumTruck, on 10/17/2009, -0/+16well, the trailer is called "Super Skills". It would be a pretty bad name if the people who were playing were completely average at it.
- mlvassallo, on 10/17/2009, -6/+21Wrong answer. With that price and some of the already pretty fantastic games on Wii you should already own one and be dying for something new to play on it by now. Get with the times.
- sindex, on 10/17/2009, -3/+15then why do you have it? Just a need to consume?
- Gravey9, on 10/17/2009, -1/+12Probably the latter because it has been said that this is one of the harder mario games to be released. Plus all you saw was a few sequences of a few random levels.
- UtahApocalyse, on 10/17/2009, -0/+10If done right this will finally take me over the top for buying a Wii
- jrm125, on 10/17/2009, -3/+12And yours is no exception.
- mickhead, on 10/17/2009, -0/+8"Some movements such as jumping and attacks are performed with the buttons, whereas others like spinning in midair and picking up other players are performed by shaking the Wii Remote."
- Wikipedia
Shaking to spin I don't mind too much, but shaking to pick up other players sounds very unnecessary. I hope thats not how you pick up other things too. - beautifulbeast, on 10/17/2009, -1/+9Why? Did you miss New Super Mario Bros. for the DS? I love that game.
- kimballj, on 10/17/2009, -1/+9The parts where they were getting 1-ups off multiple jumps looked well practiced (but still doable by anyone with classic mario skills), but most of the rest looked like standard stuff: well timed jumps onto moving floating enemies etc are not that difficult.
- MCleveland89, on 10/17/2009, -0/+6Or when Sunshine came out on Gamecube?
- smihalik, on 10/17/2009, -1/+7No. it isn't.
- Philbert, on 10/17/2009, -0/+6This looks like the classic SMB I remember that I could keep on playing for a long time, but I agree with others it'll be all about the controls. If I can use the classic controller or my Wavebird It'll be perfect.
- disappointed, on 10/17/2009, -1/+6In case the site is slow...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmQlQ00TAGg - derektherock42, on 10/17/2009, -2/+7Because 2D games are just as important as 3D. In gaming, just because a feature (3D) is technologically superior doesn't mean it should completely replace the old technology. I would be really sad if they stopped making 2D Mario games completely.
- smihalik, on 10/17/2009, -0/+5Finally, a GOOD Wii game I can play co-op with my girlfriend. I'm really getting tired of Wii sports ressort.
- rocknog, on 10/17/2009, -0/+5Actually, I'm relieved to hear that. From the start, I had been assuming that you picked up other players by pressing the B button (well, 1 button, technically, but I spend so much time playing classic NES games that I can't help but call it that, which is problematic when I'm trying to tell friends who have little experience with the NES what button to press). So I'd been assuming that there might be a problem with unintentionally picking up other players. But having a shake be required to pick up other players makes the action much more deliberate and less likely to accidentally happen in the course of normal gameplay.
- thenoblesheep, on 10/17/2009, -0/+4Has classic/gamecube controller support been ruled out yet? I hope not, I only have two wiimotes(they're more expensive) as opposed to 4 gamecube controllers and would like to play with 4 people.
- psykiv, on 10/17/2009, -3/+7Am I the only one that hates the music from the new "new super mario bros" games. I muted the video after about 3 seconds.
- crazyhorse13, on 10/18/2009, -0/+4Now if they would just make a top-down Zelda game...
- omega6, on 10/17/2009, -1/+5Finally! Back to side scrolling mario, woohoo! I was getting so sick of all that 3d mario crap. Awesomeness.
- LostOverThere, on 10/18/2009, -0/+4...Did you just call Galaxy crap?
GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! - rocknog, on 10/17/2009, -0/+3Too easy? Look, I replay pretty much all of the classic Mario games on a regular basis. This game looks pretty much par for the course. In fact, I'd say it might even be a bit challenging for me, based on some of the levels I've seen.
- arock99, on 10/18/2009, -0/+3looks awesome...would have been nice to see some power ups from super mario bros 3
- zero, on 10/17/2009, -1/+4I never got into the DS
- h0ly, on 10/17/2009, -1/+4You're not the only one. I don't hate it, but I find it a bit annoying... it isn't nearly as good as the older tunes for sure.
- hmmdar, on 10/17/2009, -1/+3NoScript FTW
- bradleyland, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2This has many of the best elements of the two greatest Mario games ever made: Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World. Stylistically, it looks like Super Mario World, which was an awesome game all around, but includes the Mario suit element from SMB 3. ***** love it!
- Generalfier1, on 10/18/2009, -0/+2Too much Super Mario World influence for my taste, IMO Super Mario Brothers 3 was perfection. They should have stayed true to that game. Tanooki FTW.
- Shaflugi, on 10/19/2009, -0/+2You act like there aren't VGA cables for the Wii, or that cheap adapters don't exist. I just bought a component->VGA cable off ebay for 5 dollars so I could use my computer monitor. Still sounds like a bad answer.
- palehorse864, on 10/17/2009, -1/+3Apparently though the shake the wiimote during jump just gives you extra height. That could have been easily handled with a second button press. The shaking thing is just stupid convolution. Leave it in, but make it an option. The same thing for picking up players.
- geodebug, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2Being able to do co-op with my kids will be awesome....and of course going through the game solo after hours.
- Raids, on 10/17/2009, -1/+3This does not look as hard as contra.
- smihalik, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2I think the only reason I ever liked contra was beacause I was 8 and I played it with the cheat. I don't ever use cheat codes anymore and I went back and tried to play contra again recently. HOLY CRAP THAT GAME IS STUPID HARD. Like frustrating, I can barelly beat the first level hard.
- Topwolf, on 10/17/2009, -2/+4I am a huge 360 fan but I mean this just may make me go buy a Wii I love the classic Mario side scroller
- uberduger, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1WAH WAH!!!

WAH WAH!!! - Rockkybox, on 10/29/2009, -0/+1Forgot mario kart, and smash brothers
- Rockkybox, on 10/29/2009, -0/+1Heard of a thing called money?
- SreyaNotfilc, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1Dude, it has been that long hasn't it! Now I feel old. I remember going to the Youth Center to wait minutes in line to spend 5 minutes playing SMBW. That seemed like yesterday.
- mpdid, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1Why not?
The system supports it, and has done an excellent job of supporting same through their Virtual Console and WiiWare titles. - buildmorerobots, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Turtle tips in the house!
and how pleasant is the audience clapping? - Frisbinator, on 10/18/2009, -1/+2I sure hope that you don't plan on playing anything not made by Nintendo, because there isn't too much else out there outside of their games. But that isn't a bad thing, you'll still have your Metroid Prime Trilogy, Zelda and Super Mario Galaxies.
- knightcrusader, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1I can't wait!
If this does well, can we have a new All-Stars? This time remake the Land series from the original Game Boy but use new "New" engine... that would be epic! - Chode2235, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1Exactly. I loved 4 swords for the gamecube, but if they did the same but made it a little friendlier for single player it would be awesome.
