- BlueSkyfish, on 02/14/2008, -1/+149But at least Guitar Hero will still help me become a rock star.
- blockbot, on 02/14/2008, -1/+89sorry gamers you still have to leave your living room to get in shape
- jtbndy, on 02/14/2008, -6/+72LOL @ all the fatties who thought Wii Fit would actually help in shedding the fat.
- darkchild82, on 02/14/2008, -4/+65"it's actually aiming to do is make you aware of your body" - couldn't they have just sold you a mirror ? or an EyeToy like cam with software that'll make fun of you when it shows how fat you look on TV - 'Wii Fat' !.
- Waskonator, on 02/14/2008, -7/+59srry... bury me.
- terminalpariah, on 02/14/2008, -1/+31An online leaderboard that lets me compete with my friends would encourage me to do more pushups and situps at home.
Microsoft should release a pedometer that gives you achievements. Now THAT would get geeks to lose some weight. - shit, on 02/14/2008, -1/+30So you're telling me I can see how many miles I've masturbated?
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -1/+27Just look at the mini-games in Wii Fit - they don't require much more movement than standing up and leaning from side to side. From a pure fitness point of view it's not even close to DDR levels of activity.
- Asianwaste, on 02/14/2008, -0/+23Tell me where you live and I'll bring my shovel.
- bowe, on 02/14/2008, -1/+23I think what he's really saying is, "These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, WiiFit is not intended to cure, treat, or prevent any disease."
- razmig, on 02/14/2008, -7/+23Well tough guy...I do, I am in shape, I just figured it would be convenient and simple addition to my life, but word to jumping down someones throat on the internet. I'll digg you up since that is your only trophy.
- liquidhalcyon, on 02/14/2008, -0/+12C'mon dude, we all have that friend of a friend that "totally" got skinny on DDR.
- juckman, on 02/14/2008, -1/+11It prints money!
- Korra, on 02/14/2008, -0/+9Dugg out of spite.
- mywhitenoise, on 02/14/2008, -11/+19Do some stretches, sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks...***** christ dude, you really think Wii Fit would be more effective than those exercises I just mentioned?
- Dragular, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8Down 55lbs since I started a year ago. Still not "Skinny" but less "likely to die next time I stand up too quickly"
- ParaSwarm, on 02/14/2008, -1/+9Or, you could just say Mr., since you're not japanese and you don't live in an anime.
- alittleroy101, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8Well ***** that was funny.
- skywake, on 02/14/2008, -1/+8If you look at what Wii Fit actually is that's about half of what it does contain. If you RTFA you will see that Miyamoto never said that you can't get Fit using Wii Fit but just that that wasn't his focus in making this game. The whole idea of making the game (in TFA) was to get people talking with their families about their health and have some fun doing it. There is nothing else out there that does that.
- KibibyteBrain, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6The key to DDR is not the calories it burns or that its good exercise. It just raises metabolism. Most of the people who start playing had a near zero metabolism before as all they did was play videogames or such more non-physical activities and their genes made them very efficient at adapting to such conditions. But by just doing a little exercise, it raises their metabolism level to one more on track with their diet. I think WiiFit could have a similar effect. The key is to try and get some regular physical activity each day that works as many muscle groups as possible. The actual calories burned does not matter as much to this effect. The fact is, even in a very fit person, some of his muscles will basically be totally undeveloped(for example, those used in swimming), so even doing a bit of work on those to basically bring them out of their atrophy state would make it easy for you to naturally burn the calories that you need to burn.
- Charlotte_Web, on 02/14/2008, -0/+6NEWSFLASH: Wii Sports isn't really sports...
- jewdiknight, on 02/14/2008, -3/+8So if I do those things you just wrote, my ***** will get bigger?
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5Pedometers can be hacked easily. Just shake it and its as you have run miles!
- Hobolord, on 02/14/2008, -2/+7Everyone in this thread is fat!!
I'm going to keep using the word "Fat" until EVERYONE in this thread believes that I must be ***** ripped!
hahahahaha...
ha ha - timewarp424, on 02/14/2008, -2/+7Get to it man. Pick up No More Heroes and amuse yourself.
- johnnliu, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5but I already have 3 mmo memberships sucking up monthly fees!
- MisteR2, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5Santa Claus doesn't exist.
- CypherXero, on 02/14/2008, -1/+6Someone needs to inform Honda about this
- darkism, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5PROTIP: You and the OP both deserve to be buried for being huge weeaboos.
- benitojuarez, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5who cares about wii fit, im still trying to get a damn wii.......
- KyleGoetz, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5Protip: Depending on your level of personal relationship with Shigeru Miyamoto, it might actually be more correct to say Shigeru-san.
However, it is true that no one on Digg probably is well-connected enough to call him that. - Marcsib, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4I played Brain Age and i'm still dumb as *****, refund please.
- daridave, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4BUT, this is a good way to make the player actually "connect" with their bodies -- cuz you just KNOW there's some out there who never did. Learn some "moves", see what it's like to use something else than your fingers and if maybe, just maybe, you (as in "anybody") end up liking it...try the real thing. :) Hey I mean you can't blame the game, I don't think playing hours of COD4 will make you a good sniper or bomber in real life, too...
- KyleGoetz, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4DDR is cardiovascular, ya idjit. I've gotten my heart rate to sustained periods of 60-70% of my max heart rate (that's a very good range for fat burning and cardio, just so you know). I have a Polar heart rate monitor, so I've actually tested it out.
Also, I think you don't know what "anaerobic" means. Jogging isn't anaerobic, either. Anaerobic exercise is extremely high intensity for short periods of time. Anaerobic means "without air." - KyleGoetz, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4Is there DDR on the Wii? You seem to suggest not. So: why the hell not?
- razmig, on 02/14/2008, -8/+11Really? hmm...I am mildly disappointed as I was semi-expecting this to be a convenient little game I could use in the morning before classes or work when I don't feel like going to the gym on our schools other campus. Oh well, I'll pick it up anyways as I am sure if used properly it could help a little bit.
- TalkingBanana, on 02/14/2008, -2/+5Just like diet soda is better then regular, right?
- benitojuarez, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3an unfortunate side effect is that there's former fat kids out there that think that's how you're actually supposed to dance.
- adasha, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2"bullet proof vests not actually designed to stop bullets"
- GenoBaby, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2I own a few mirrors... not as fun as you would imagine. Go fig!
- bfrank72, on 02/14/2008, -6/+8But the EyeToy sucked.
- volacide, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Brilliant.
- cyranthus, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2than why include aerobics/ yoga exercises within the game?
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3I can't feel my legs!
- iRoy, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Then why the ***** did you name it Wii Fit?
- KyleGoetz, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2If anyone thought that Wii Fit would make them fit, they need to GTFO my universe plox. Being fit takes two things, proper exercise and proper diet. The only game I know of that can provide proper exercise is DDR because it's a full body cardio workout. Ten minutes of balancing on a pad with Wii Fit will not make you skinnier.
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Or maybe pick up your Wii to do that?
- I_am_so_smrt, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2Honestly, were there people using this as a substitute for the Gym? Well, I guess this means that Halo won't prepare me for the Army either.
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Don't want anyone getting to know my body but my luvah
- iucraigmc, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1*sigh* Back to my Dance Dance Revolution workout grind...
