- mishaneah, on 09/30/2008, -3/+78Message from the future: Mega Man 140,000 sells 9 copies in one week!
- DonWigler, on 10/01/2008, -2/+49People who have beaten it: 6
- GetItBuilt, on 09/30/2008, -6/+26Now that's Mega :)
- djmphoto, on 10/01/2008, -0/+19I beat it last night...wait that doesn't sound right. I finished the game last night. BTW, it was very hard, but after beating it I was filled with such a great sense of satisfaction, the ending is hilarious.
- ssgOverlord, on 09/30/2008, -0/+18Glad to hear it started with a bang, on WiiWare alone! Hopefully the news will pull more quality WiiWare games from other big developers.
Still gonna need that storage solution, though. - Sornos, on 09/30/2008, -0/+17That's a good sign for games in general. Even though the big buy factor is nostalgia, it doesn't try to entice newcomers by dumbing down the mechanics and difficulty. It's a game for the fans of the series, which is always a good thing, even if I'm not.
- aqzman, on 09/30/2008, -1/+17Great game, and one of the best Wii Ware titles out there.
- cofingp, on 09/30/2008, -1/+15Ouch, Super Mario RPG isn't doing too hot when it's put next to those guys.
- chewbacca77, on 10/01/2008, -1/+15Dear Nintendo,
I would like to download more games for the Wii, but I can't. There's not enough storage space. Please fix this.
Sincerely,
-me - da_bradler, on 10/01/2008, -0/+13is it me or is CAPCOM really getting there ***** together lately? Street fighter 4, bionic commando: rearmed, Mega Man 9. lots of fan service and great classic gameplay with a twist.
They are bringing back 2d games(control wise) which is awesome since certain genres of games actually play a lot better in 2d. - wrekd, on 10/01/2008, -0/+11I got it last night for my 6 year old who has mastered Mario Galaxy and Battalion Wars II. MM9 is...hard.
Either that or we are just not practiced on the old school - timing is everything - don't screw up once - 2d patformers. - teamparadox, on 10/01/2008, -3/+14As lame as this may sound to some...I bought the game twice.
last night I got it for my PS3 and this morning I got it for my 360. Why you ask? Simple really; I'm supporting something I believe in. If we want more games like this or older games brought to life on our new consoles we need to be buying games like Mega Man and Bionic Commando. These games are just testing the waters and if we jump in and swim then companies will keep them coming.
There are tons of older generation games I would love to be playing on my 360. I wouldnt have to bust out my old consoles. I wouldnt have to look at blurry upscaled graphics on my 1080p LCD. Capcom made this 8bit wonder HD for a reason. It's retro but its also incredibly sharp and clean on newer TV's.
The only reason I didnt buy the game on Wii when it came out was because it would be a blurry mess, but I think I made up for it by buying it twice.
Thank you Capcom! - dagnabbit, on 10/01/2008, -1/+11Just because the graphics are old doesn't mean it was thrown together. The level design and music are superb, for example. But yeah, I hope Capcom made a bundle on this game because it's really fun.
- TheFuturist, on 10/01/2008, -0/+10At times the game could make you want to punch a baby.
- dema, on 10/01/2008, -0/+10It's definitely hard at first. But like all the NES Mega Man games, you eventually learn the patterns and best weapons. It took me 4h30m to beat it the first time with too may continues to count. I've beat in two more times since then with my best time being 1h32m (just missed the damn 90 minute challenge) and I'm currently working on a game at the final stages with only 29m and no continues so far. And it's still incredibly fun (: Can't wait for some of the DLC.
- knowitman, on 10/01/2008, -0/+9Are you trying to imply that there are 1,216,750,000 people in those 36 countries that own Wiis?
- silver26, on 10/01/2008, -1/+9mega on Rockman
- Familyguykiller, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8Wow it's about to be the top selling Wii Ware and nintendo made 5million on mario kart 64.........I think our government could borrow money of them tehy make it by doing nothing....I bet it cost them like 100 dollors in bandwitdh to make an easy 5mill on one game
- xsecretfiles, on 10/01/2008, -4/+12That's what she said.....
- DeusNova, on 10/01/2008, -2/+10How much did it cost to produce MM9? $200? Capcom probably made a huge profit.
- Tanktunker, on 10/01/2008, -0/+8Actually that's kilo.
- mikemil828, on 10/01/2008, -0/+8And 90% of those won't get past the first level.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/01/2008, -0/+7I think people are forgetting its on PSN and XBL.
- ThaDRD, on 10/01/2008, -1/+8It's brutal and unforgiving. I only have three levels beat.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -0/+7The population number isn't the same as the number of Wii owners and "a lot" is relative to other game sales, not consumer base.
- Tanktunker, on 10/01/2008, -0/+7Don't feed the trolls.
- KrustyTClown, on 10/01/2008, -1/+8Back, back under your bridge. Be gone troll!!
- chewbacca77, on 10/01/2008, -0/+7That's sad.. I just played it through for the first time in 10 years or so, and I was surprised at how good it was.
- jmnormand, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6kinda make you wonder why they bother coming out with new systems... i think the nes and its titles are as popular now as they were 20 years ago...
- braditude101, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6Maybe Sega will observe the success of Megaman 9 and its retro graphics and finally give us a classic style Sonic game...One that very closely resembles the game play of Sonic and Knuckles with Sonic 3 "Locked On"
- chewbacca77, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6Both are good options... but that's not how should have to be done.
- Larz0rz, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6...man
- bitweever, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6That Rocks, Man!
- ThaDRD, on 10/01/2008, -1/+7I got it on PS3. I wonder how many were sold on PS3 in addition to the Wii copies.
- YouRookies, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6Capcom, thank you for keeping the game HARD and not dumbing it down to today's standard.
- directrix13, on 10/01/2008, -1/+7I got it on PS3, because I really hate holding the damn Wii mote sideways, and I'm too cheap to buy one of those legacy controllers or whatever they are called.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5"the Wii handles SD graphics better and has a superior controller"
retard. The Wii doesn't have an internal scaler, so no...it definitely does NOT handle SD graphics better.
As for the controller, that's a preference. I'd rather use my SNES styled PS3 controller, over moving the wii remote to it's side. - directrix13, on 10/01/2008, -1/+6I got it on PS3 also. The controller just feels more natural than sideways Wii mote. I've only beaten one stage on it so far. Just the concrete man stage (I figured they were giving you a hint on the order to play from the demo). They made this game very difficult. I like it. The first challenge I had since Bionic Commando: Rearmed.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5I couldn't get past the 2nd gap on the demo.
- melkore, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5But MM9 did not have a super huge ad campaign that lasted for months, it has no physical copy so you can't find it on the shelf and you have to download it online. That right there will stop a good amount of casual users like my brother who has never used the PSN store on his PS3 in the year he's had his.
- vpshockwave, on 10/01/2008, -4/+9I want a new MMX :(
- Peter89, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5Scheduled maintenance.
- directrix13, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5Uhh, no I think he means Mega Man X. Although, I do like Mega Man Legends also. Mega Man X is the best sub-series in my opinion.
- marclindsay, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5Rock on megaman.... My childhood idol game
- Doomsan, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5Let's get the 8-bit trend begin!
- Brad324, on 10/01/2008, -2/+7you ruined it with the dots.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/01/2008, -1/+6Didn't the PS3 sell more than double that figure on launch day?
- lbeaty1981, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4Or set up an account on Nintendo.com and link it to your Wii console. After that, you can delete games and re-download them for free whenever you want.
- nastysquar3d, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4I have a feeling they might announce something tomorrow at the Nintendo Media Summit.
Gamers have been on their asses for months about the issue, not to mention the new Guitar Hero will feature downloadable content the new Rock Bank will feature downloadable content and more quality WiiWare games are coming out every week.
I was dissapointed in the service at its inception but it's starting shape up with the likes of MM9, Strong Bad games, and some quality offerings from lesser known companies (Groovin Blocks, Art Style: Orbient) - gametavern, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4although not that huge in terms of sales, it's a lot considering it's download only and probably was developed in a few months.
Hope this inspires other studios to try this out. -
