- SDNick484, on 08/22/2008, -0/+8It might seem hard at first, but after you get use to it, it becomes a breeze. The controls on that game are borderline perfect (extremely tight), there's virtually no cheap deaths. Although I'm sure I'm biased having grown up on that game.

The idea behind it is to play through a game 100% perfectly with the fastest time possible, using savestates and a speed modulation to perfect the video. Simply playing through the game is easy. This game was probably played at around a fifth the actual gameplay speed when it was recorded, if not slower. The difficulty doesn't lie in just playing through the game, it lies in doing everything absolutely perfect, and making it look really cool.
It's simply for entertainment, and considered to be somewhat of an art by it's enthusiasts.

Leave memes alone! - SDNick484, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3Definitely, any veteran of that game can tell something is up because the ghost ship never appears on their map (it's suppose to appear every 80,000 points). My personal best using whistles is a little over 20 minutes (without whistles it's 2 hours 50 mins), and what they do on some of those ships on world 8 is amazing. It's definitely not entirely legit, but still very impressive.
