  • Recoil, on 05/09/2008, -4/+47The name of the series is "KID Icarus". Turning him into an adult kinda ruins it... and the artwork looks a bit too much like Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia. I'm hoping they will use some Zelda elements in the game, but still come up with a very original style. The storyline should still be inspired by greek mythology, I'd like to see if they could find a worthy successor to Medusa as the villain.

      My guess is that this is just a red herring for PR purposes and that in actuality the design of kid icarus for his next gen debut has already been long finalized.

    • Elranzer, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Actually, the series is called "Angel Land Story" (in Japan), Nintendo of America only edited this because of the religious element in the name. Also, "Kid" Icarus (Pit) is actually an adult throughout the entire game (similar to Link in Zelda 2). If you beat the game, the cut scene's graphics show a more adult looking Pit, embracing Paulitina by the way.

      The only incarnation of Pit that seems like a kid was in Captain N.

I wonder though if they can make a game that has that nostalgic appeal, but be good on its own right as well. Many franchises were successful with this concept (Mario, Zelda, etc.) though it seems difficult to do.

      Do you see this? Do you know what it is? This is early concept art on Genie from Aladdin. All this is nothing more than an early pitch. All they are doing is brainstorming to see what they like and don't like. That's just how it works. This is the reason why studios wait till after the product is done before they reveal it. It may leave a bad impression on people.

I mean, if you want to make a game about an adult winged guy with a bow - fine, just call it FlyGuy or whatever.
    Anyway, these are just concept art, so they might be totally unrelated to the actual content of the finished game, so good luck with that.

    Also it's awfully late, I'm posting about a game I probably won't ever play and I have no life whatsoever, thank you and goodnight.
