I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it probably had something to do with processing power and/or the expense of a color lcd screen. The GBC doubled the clock speed for GBC exclusive games.

    Also, it's the nintendo seal now instead of nintendo seal of quality... I suppose they renamed it due to people thinking like this.

    The seal of quality was just to say that the piece of hardware (aka cartridge) would work with the system. It had nothing to do with the software.

Luckily for us, there were more than enough games to keep us happy, but it doesn't change the fact that there were hundreds of festering, putrid mounds of ***** available, as well.

Incidentally, it was Link's Awakening DX, not Link's Awakening, and that's one of the best games ever. It's a bit unique in the Zelda universe in that it's not set in Hyrule, and it was the first Zelda game I ever played (and the first video game I ever played, in fact.) It's made me a life-long Zelda fan to this day.

  • nuketrap, on 10/19/2008, -1/+8The Nintendo Seal of Quality basically means now that it is a legal copy of the game, it isn't like the old system where the game was genuinely good. However, I do laugh when I see the pirated GBA Games, the seal of quality turns into a diamond instead of a circle.
