- goyney, on 01/15/2008, -0/+16How about a link directly to the form instead?
http://www.activisiongameexchange.com/ - gamerscalling, on 01/15/2008, -0/+15I really don't like the fact that you have to send in your disc first and then wait for them to send you a new one. Why can't they do it like a bunch of other companies where they send you the replacement and then you return the original? If someone doesn't return the original, you either let them keep it or have a means to charge them a small fee for the game. It is not like you can just give the disc to your friend so they can play too, you need the guitar.
- Hedgecore, on 01/15/2008, -0/+13So now I get to wait for Activision to send me a S.A.S.E., then I get to mail my existing game in and wait for their replacement? What if I want to... ionno, PLAY IT IN THE MEANTIME.
What a bunch of goons. - syl1985, on 01/15/2008, -2/+13What about international gamers? Grrr....
- victorycig, on 01/15/2008, -1/+11Only people with two ears.
- Exhaust, on 01/15/2008, -0/+6If you like your music games to play in stereo then yes you need this...
- H3LLSL337, on 01/15/2008, -0/+6And I would say that since you paid for Pro Logic II you should at least get it.
- courtjester555, on 01/15/2008, -0/+5Dugg for doing actual research. Cited facts are a scarce resource here nowadays.
- kevyn, on 01/15/2008, -2/+7i like turtles
- Radan, on 01/15/2008, -1/+6What about we few that have more than that, then? What about us?! Is there no place in the world where three-ear-Jim will ever fit in!? You cruel, judgmental people!
- victorycig, on 01/15/2008, -5/+10I'm a little suspicious of the url... Looks like it could be a phishing attempt...
Edit:
Nevermind, WHOIS says registrant:
Activision Publishing, Inc (DOM-1730557)
3100 Ocean Park Blvd. Santa Monica CA 90405 US - ahsteele, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4Also Rock Band and Guitar Hero III are different games, from different companies.
- winmywii, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5it looks suspicious but it was posted on their official FAQ.
- dsendecki, on 01/15/2008, -1/+5I would say that, if you haven't noticed an issue, then there's no need.
- mattyice11, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4Don't just bury him...be sure to report as well.
- ztorgo, on 01/15/2008, -0/+4Lame-O exchange program. Activision is like "Sorry we messed up in the first place by producing a faulty disc, now we'll further inconvenience you by making you wait for the discs to make a round trip by mail (plus processing time)". I bet Activision is purposely making this a PITA on purpose to try and dissuade people from using it.
- chadu, on 01/15/2008, -7/+10Who cares about this... when is the downloadable content coming?
- Plaguefox, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3The issue is that the previous discs only played in mono. So if you have two speakers hooked up to your television (or your television has two speakers built in) you would benefit from the replacement.
Generally, though, if you didn't notice it was in mono by now you probably won't care much about the difference. - wastedlife, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3No they get excited because they don't have to hold for 30 minutes before they speak to someone for 2 minutes.
- nicko68, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3Replace "some files "as in all the music tracks which were encoded in mono?
- doshindude, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3you're retarded.
- snickeringImp, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2Easy there, Mr. Thompson.
- kevyn, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2I would love to have it this way... you give them card details and they send you new disk, if you don't send in the disk within 2months, then you get £5 taken from your account to cover the costs?
actually I can see that system going terribly wrong... - intent, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2In the flash memory, silly. Just replace some files on the fly every time the game runs.
- sindex, on 01/15/2008, -0/+2Can the Wii do that? Where is it going to store that amount of information? Don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* my Wii, and it's easily the best fun/friend system out there, but there are a few HUGE glaring issues with it: 1) Storage, 2) It doesn't even play DVDs (or, if you patched, MP3s anymore).
- VermiciousKnid, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1if u listen to the game in pro logic its really annoying.
i dont want to have to go into the wii settings and change it to stereo and back all the time - Kenzan, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1You said..."Goons."
lol - NetSliderX, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1if activision offered nothing, we would have an air-tight class action suit against them and Dolby labs.
- gooshy, on 01/17/2008, -0/+1Anyone got a link where I can register to get mine replaced in the UK?
- thejadedmonkey, on 01/15/2008, -1/+2Probably because they're not making many, so they don't have as many to replace.
- Myonosken, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1After fapping.
- adammharvey, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1this from has been out for the last 3 weeks or so. and its just preregistration.
- Kenzan, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1You know, Activision could have decided to give the users jack-frickin'-squat.
-And most people would have been perfectly happy with that. - ScionX, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1this is for the wii problem because of them only being in mono
- Archaic1, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1Just pretend it's a new release game and it'll feel like normal when we finally get our replacement discs in August.
- Takfam, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1Ya think?
Of course they're making it a chore, they don't want people to send in for a new disc "just because." They want to replace your disc if you have a problem, but not if your disc is working fine for you. It's a cost cutting measure. They are running a business after all. - wastedlife, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1Yeah, get a life people! You can get one by trolling Digg!
- jrizzo, on 01/15/2008, -3/+3I did it with your mom a few days ago...
- ObiNguyen, on 01/07/2009, -0/+0Thanks to AZTriGuy for the heads up. But I agree with some comments above; we should be able to send in our disc AFTER we receive the replacement.
- zgeorge, on 01/15/2008, -2/+1..and exactly where do they apply this patch?! Ever thought the disk is perhaps, a read-only, write-once disk?
- Keloran, on 01/15/2008, -2/+1why dont they just patch it online, the wii can do that, all they have todo is wii-mail everyone who registered the game (or do a blanket) and tell them to launch the updater, which will then patch the game ??, seems alot simpler, also if they do a blanket one, people will get it without realizing they needed to patch it
i mean if you dont have your wii online, your unlikelly to have a pc online, and so unlikelly to even know there is a disk request form, much easier, and much faster, since you dont have to wait for the post-person to turn up - Cheesecrunch, on 01/15/2008, -1/+0In Portland we are about to begin throwing them into landfills
- MisterSquishy, on 01/15/2008, -3/+1I wish I had a copy to send in! Here the Wii version of GH3 is as hard to find as the Wii itself!
- winmywii, on 01/15/2008, -7/+5So the reason to get the disc replaced is dolby pro logic 2? Is there a reason I need this?
- winmywii, on 01/15/2008, -4/+2I guess unless I buy a surround sound in the future there is no need.
- Myst3r1o, on 01/15/2008, -6/+3Sorry, nothing to see here.
- dsendecki, on 01/15/2008, -5/+1Huh? http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/ ?
- NinjaBoy, on 01/15/2008, -6/+1Both a friend an I have an issue with out rock band discs for 360. It says the disc is unreadable, even though its perfectly fine. It gave me the error within 10mins of it being out of the box. And now my friend is getting the same error. is this JUST a wii problem?
- ChaosProfessor, on 01/15/2008, -7/+1http://www.Gamingdealz.com broke this story over a week ago.
