- cambrown99, on 10/10/2007, -2/+137"The Wii version will be the only Guitar Hero game that will feature force-feedback thanks to the rumble in the controller, and believe it or not, in our hands-on, you really could feel the guitar shake to the beat when you rocked out with Star Power, as well as "buzz" when crazy effects are going on in the game."
Nice! - ChrisRX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+81To have the ping come out of the wiimote speaker is a great idea. The ping of your opponent failing a note is one of the most satisfying noises.
- AnteChronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+52If it were a graphics-intensive game I'd agree with you, but for a game like Guitar Hero, gameplay trumps graphics, and the addition of rumble and the use of the Wii Remote speaker is what tips the scales for me.
- paOol, on 10/10/2007, -2/+47"We wouldn't be surprised to see the Wii version top the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions in sales when they all ship this fall. "
- AnteChronos, on 10/10/2007, -1/+45Damn. I was planning on getting GH3 for the PS2, since I already have two guitars. Now I'm seriously tempted to shell out extra for the Wii guitars. Since the Wii guitar takes advantage for the Wii Remote for wireless and motion sensing, I wonder if it'll be any cheaper than the guitars for other consoles?
- Ledwolf555, on 10/10/2007, -7/+46Go with the Wii... Gamplay is great and they are focused on the game & experience... PS3 and 360 are having a "mine is bigger than yours" contest.
- robrueda, on 10/10/2007, -1/+33Rumble???? didn't they get the memo from Sony... Rumble is not NextGen.
BTW i'm getting it for the Wii - doshindude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+30gameplay>graphics.
- MatchStick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29Force feadback, sounds coming from guitar, 10 bux cheaper....
SOLD!!! - doshindude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29i think they already confirmed $10 cheaper.
- KarateExplosion, on 10/10/2007, -3/+29*Let me preface this by stating that I am a Wii owner.*
Maybe it's just me, but I really could care less if this game is online or not. Like a lot of other adults, I really dont have time to invest several hours a sitting to a game. An hour tops. This is one of those games that takes a while to get halfway decent. I dont need to go online, only to get slaughtered by some 12yr old that has nothing else to do all day except play a game.
The same goes for really every online game I have tried. Maybe I would feel differently if I had enough time to get really good at a game, I may feel different. As of now though, the screams of PWN! and BOOM HEADSHOT! every 3 seconds really gets on my nerves.
Im certainly not bashing the 360, I would love to buy one, but the wife says no. But back to my original point though, online play with this title is not a deal breaker by any means. I dont want to know that I am currently the worst player in the world, because in my livingroom, Im in the middle of busting out some serious anthems.
BTW, I cant read this article from work, but have they given a release date as of yet? - healingcommoner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24That guy looks just as dorky as I do holding a toy guitar
- darkNiGHTS, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Guitar Hero on the Playstation was fine, so why isn't it fine on the Wii?
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Well, I was considering which version to get, the 360 or the Wii. Sounds like I'm getting the Wii version.
- RanIntoTheDevil, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Yeah. When I play Guitar Hero II I really get disappointed by the lack of random shaking and buzzing that I get when I play my real guitar...
- nicko68, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23And Nintendo just sits quietly on the sidelines raking in cash.
- MatchStick, on 10/19/2007, -3/+23awww, whats-a-matter? no games for your ***** PS3? That's ok, u still have Blu Ray, remember?
- h0ly, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16They could also read the wiimote's angle to animate some of the characters on screen, mirroring your own movement... That would be a nice touch as well.
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Reviewers have spoken ill of the feedback? The second thing that wowed me about the Wiimote was how it jiggled when I hovered the cursor over a button!
- bonk2k, on 10/19/2007, -0/+12Last time I checked guitarists don't play music by matching flying colored dots with colored buttons on a plastic guitar.
- McTendo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Putting lipstick on your hand is not considered getting laid. I don't know how many times we've told you this, moojahdee.
- Keimatsu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11This makes me want to get it for the Wii when I was originally gonna get is for PS2. I just hope those screenshots look better on a TV.
- jedikv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10CRTs can do 60fps.
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12FTA:
"... with visuals running at 480p and widescreen at 60 frames per second."
NTSC televisions are only 30 frames per second. - UGM2099, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11> I wonder if it'll be any cheaper than the guitars for other consoles?
We could hope, but it seems highly unlikely. - Caleb83, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12I wonder if we're allowed to call this the Wiitar?
- Elric77, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11"The 480p graphics definitely look sub-par"..... it's ***** GUITAR HERO you idiot. It's a MUSIC game. And I can bet that people will play this through their TV's speakers and it will sound like *****, but guess what? They don't care, cause it's FUN. Did you expect it to look like Halo or Metroid Prime 3? It's MUSIC NOTES on your TV SCREEN! And if there are people willing to WATCH you play a game like this, then they really don't have anything better to do, so they won't care what it looks like anyways.
- davidhildreth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9it doesn't look that bad... it's not they would be the first devs to rush a GC/Wii title anyway
- directive0, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I think some people should ignore "Reviewers" and go out and try the damn thing. Pretty soon the only opinion anyone will have of anything is what they've been spoon fed by "unbiased reviewers".
News flash, everyone has bias. - MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8You're so 'not even wrong' -- FPS have been doing this for years.
Here is but one example of how this could be done -- Who ever hosts the game's client (copy of GH3) slows down to the latency (speed) of your connection to the other player/s. End result, you both play at the same time. - devonkeale, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10My real guitars don't buzz or vibrate to the beat. I can't even decide if I'd actually want them to... sounds quite horrible...
- joebus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9More like sits quietly on the sidelines while all the girls are playing with its Wii.
- McTendo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Sounds like you and afireinside0016 came from the same grade.
- film42, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9STFU :)
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7TV pixelation looks far worse on computer monitors than on televisions. It'll look a lot better on TV. I'm often impressed at the smoothness of round objects, like the pointer cursor, on the Wii. Must be antialiased.
- onemillion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I think I'm gonna get this... good thing I got a Wii instead of PS3 or XB360
- McTendo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7What a waste.
- mattyice11, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7A lot of people aren't playing on CRTs.
- mustbepatient, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6They note that there is some Nintendo WFC support but the developer did not fill them in on any details...
- EPITOMEofCOOL, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Doesn't that guy know how to strap the guitar strap over his shoulder?
- mbthompson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8My friend, if I could digg you up 50 times, I would.
- directive0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5are we to believe you are taking a break from your hedonistic sex orgy to come and troll a digg comment?
- nicko68, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I'm glad there are no pictures of me playing.
- KarateExplosion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5*palm forehead*
Totally forgot about DC and co-op. However, that is probably better for me. It's bad enough that my wife has a tendancy to look at the browsing history on our PC (really honey, it was research)... but I really dont need her to know that I just downloaded the definitive works of ABBA. Seriously, who doesnt want to add a little rock to Dancing Queen?
My thoughts on online play stay the same though, would be cool to have, but not a deal breaker. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4it comes out October 28 of this year.
- Finster63, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4online is also good for downloading content (i.e. new songs) - not just head-to-head... There is also co-op in some games where you can invite someone you know, with similar skills to work together...
- floridiot2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"I would love to buy one, but the wife says no."
*whiiipppshhh*
Oh, and awesome name, Karate Explosion from the NetZero commercials was ***** hilarious. :) - napalmdaddy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yeah I need to get laid. With a wife, 2 kids, and a job thats exactly what I need. Dont ***** talk trash when you know nothing about me. I hate douche's like this all over the internet. I bet you're the same fag that screams "Fake" after every viral video posted too, aren't ya?
PS ***** you :) - lock720, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5gah, typo. That should read "fields per second".
- Weebs43, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3...and so do a good amount of the rest of us, the difference is we don't piss and moan about how other people are able to enjoy this game even though it's not "the real deal".
