From NES to Wii: The ever-changing sizes of Mario and Bowser

gamesradar.com — It’s no surprise Nintendo would alter Mario and Bowser as time wears on, especially when their first appearances are crude sprites that barely convey what they’re supposed to be. If you study the duo’s evolution over the course of 23 years, it’s just plain funny how much Bowser has shifted sizes, from roughly comparable to Mario to Godzilla.

    I liked New SMB for DS alot... Sunshine not so much... but both definitely worth trying.

    Most people think Sunshine sucks, but I enjoyed it alot. It took Mario 64 and improved the concept ten fold. It has a tropical theme similar to Mario World and Yoshi's Island. What most people dont like are the water pack stuff. I thought it added a nice mix of platforming elements, especially with the numerous levels that strip it away and make you play Mario 64 style levels.

    A small bowser would have been lame in Mario 64. A huge bowser just wouldn't fit in Mario Kart.

    So, yeah, it's mildly amusing to observe bowser's changing size, but enforcing a size ratio across all games would take away from the experience.
