- Insert31990, on 10/11/2007, -5/+40A lot of you fail to realize that there are a ton of Wii owners who went without the Gamecube, myself included. This port is an opportunity for us to experience one of the Gamecube's finest titles.
Milking more money from the same game? Maybe.
Generic, ***** Wii port? Hardly. - celestial, on 10/11/2007, -3/+34BITCH! THIS AINT A CUT SCENE

- NegroSuave, on 10/11/2007, -9/+24Hi there! I have a full time job and all my friends have full time jobs on wildly varying shifts yet we manage to play Wii with each other.
Sounds like you would be an awful bore to be around mate. - TheBobbyx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15How 'bout Resident Wiivel 4?
Actually on second thoughts, no.....forget that... - McTendo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17You got a PS2 for RE4? Man, you got your ass ripped off. Wii>GCN>PC>PS2 when it comes to RE4.
- frepnog, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14over 7 million Wii's have been sold.

Yeah, it seems Digg users tend to have a black and white mentality. It's fairly rational to say that the Wii right now just doesn't have a solid line-up. It's 3rd party titles are very lacking, and the 360 has a much more mature line-up. What the Wii is seeing right now are ports of Gamecube games, sets of mini-games, and movie-based throw together *****.
With Sony's upcoming lineup looking absolutely stellar, Microsoft's lineup already strong, Nintendo is going to have to do something. Resident Evil 4 and other ports just aren't going to cut it. - KnockoutNerd, on 10/11/2007, -7/+18I play games on my Wii, of course after I beat Zelda the only physical game I play is SSBM (can't wait for Brawl) and re-purchased Super Mario World. I'm not a huge fan of Wii sports because I like Nintendo for full game experiences, if I would want mini-games I will get Mario Party 8 but that game looks kickass so I will get it.
- firemaker103, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13Brawl is Super Smash Brothers Brawl and Galaxy is Super Mario Galaxy.
- OgnodoD, on 10/11/2007, -4/+15"don't kid yourself, you've invested several hundred bucks in a console that is currently underperforming."
Far better than spending 600 bucks on a console that is currently underperforming. There is nothing that's out on the PS3 at the moment that I desire to play. There are some titles in the future, but not right now. As for the Wii, I knew what I was getting into when I made my purchase. I realized the reality that the first generation of games would be mostly weak ports due to the Gamecube's lack of success. That is how the videogame business has always operated. The Wii is selling quite well and the tides are turning in terms of 3rd parties. However, 3rd parties can't just pump stuff out in a few months. If they did that, you'd be complaining about weak new IPs instead of weak ports. I don't see how that's any better. So far, I've been pleased with a number of Wii titles, and I'm looking forward to a slew of titles coming out later this year. - tizz66, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Seriously, how can you say Mario isn't in the same league as other properties? Everyone, even old people who have never gamed, know who mario is. I think you're suffering from the 'zomg its so kiddie' syndrome though you probably won't admit it. Mario is fun, and I guarantee you it will sell bucketloads.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10This game looks great. After playing Resident Evil 4 on PC and finishing it (using mouse aim mod on) I can see why people would love this game so much.
- Dundasbro, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13We arn't even getting trauma center in Australia, so quit yer whinin' :'(
- mnemonix, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11That does look good, they even have real-life moving hair and skirts! Looks like they've put a lot of work into it, unlike the usual Nintendo-Capcom port...
I'd be happy with those graphics on the 360! - shaun1018, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I hate the spring-summer good game drought.
- iluvatar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Nintendo and MS have their big guns coming out this year: Brawl, Galaxy, and Metroid going up against Halo, GTA, Bioshock, and Mass Effect. Right now they have an intense poker game going on in terms of when to release each game in the face of competition (well, except for Halo. That could pretty much come out whenever and it wouldn't matter). With FF and MGS pushed back to 2008 Sony is really going to have to bank on some new IP to compete (Heavenly Sword and Little Big Planet for example), and that is always a risky move in this business. Should be an interesting year.
- NSMike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6It does, and it used to be hugely popular when it was in the main lineup of front pages back when digg 3.0 launched.
But now that they've put it off to the side, it garners the attention of very few diggers. People are no longer content with their submitted videos hardly getting noticed, so they're putting them back on the main front pages of digg, where they're seen. - Paroparo, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11I'm a huge fan of Nintendo and adamantly sure the Wii is going to be the top console this gen, but I have to agree the Wii has had pretty few games recently. It's double bad in Europe, where Elebits was just released (although my local store still doesn't have it), Trauma Center will come out sometime during the summer, and there's still not even a date set for Super Paper Mario. Those were the three games I was interested in before the big trio later this year (?), so making a few Miis is all I've been waving my wiimotes for recently.
Of course there's still around a dozen excellent Gamecube games I've yet to play, and I got an old Xbox for dirt cheap a while back, so I'm not exactly bored. The Wii WILL have mountains of great games like the DS, and the Wii WILL sell the most hardware out of this gen's home consoles, but the Wii IS pretty boring right now. Of course we're less than 12 hours from the Smash Bros. site being updated, and there's rumours of Nintendo announcing stuff about Galaxy and Corruptions as well, so this might change very soon. - legendxx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7@canewediggit
That is the poorest excuse I've ever heard for not having time for friends. - kaplanfx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5@blobzorz - While it's true that Nintendo has been very 1st party centric the last few gens, I think this will change with the Wii for 2 reasons.
1) The Wii is currently the fastest selling console (over the PS3, 360, and even beating the PS2 which is outselling the other 2; not counting DS of course)
2) There is quite a bit of developer interest due to the ease of development and interesting new control scheme.
This should, at least in the next year or so, lead to some significant 3rd party development.
-kap - throwingks, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10I would take Mario over Master Chief or Tommy any day!
- OgnodoD, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7"and as for the wii being boring, I couldnt agree more"
Did the guy you're replying to even bring up the idea of the Wii being boring? - Anthop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I don't think it's the case that Nintendo doesn't care about its 3rd party support. True, Nintendo has always had their "do-it-their-own-way" attitude, but even Nintendo realizes the importance of having other people develop games for their system. Why bother trying to bring titles like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy to/back to a Nintendo system in the first place?
Also, developers are >of course< showing interest in developing for the Wii. It >is< the current top-selling console with the second-largest install base. It's a huge untapped market the has producers excited, irrespective of whatever "unique control scheme" that developers want to explore.
I think the current lack of good third party support is due to the fact that the Wii was not projected to be a huge success when it was first launched. A lot of people, including developers were focused on what Sony was doing with its PS3 or what Microsoft had going with the Xbox 360. I suspect that there >weren't< a lot of games for the Wii in the pipeline because developers (and more importantly, producers) weren't expecting to have a large market there.
This also explains the current line-up of games. Now that the Wii has established itself as a large market force, developers were caught flat-footed. Thus, all the quick and dirty ports of old games in an attempt to cover their asses and make some money off of this starved market. I'm sure a lot of projects are getting started >now< with the Wii specifically in mind, but they won't see fruitation for another year or so.
So basically:
* Current poor 3rd party support is due to the 3rd party underestimating the potential market value of the Wii.
* Better 3rd party games for the Wii will come out, but not for awhile. - coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -11/+15I don't know what is with some Digg users and the inability to see things in a fair and balanced perspective. You're either totally for something or you hate it more than anything.
What you've said is totally true, I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would digg you down. - LiquidIse, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4MP:3 and Brawl?
Yo also have to remember that the US isn't nintendo's only major market, and unlike microsoft who can release games purely for the US, nintendo has to try and find the right game for 2 completely diffrent markets, and that is why games like smash do so amazingly well, because they become worldwide hits, where as halo 3, while it will almost certainly be the fastest selling game in the US ever, will do mediocre at best in japan. - Tikkimann, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@gmillerd
Hopefully, people buy it this time. - wiredDeath, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3the grapple gun looks awesome
- psylence, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Have fun playing a resolution. I hear level 2 is 1440i!
- Tikkimann, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@McTendo, is the PC version really better? I keep hearing that RE4 PC is butt-ugly, a nasty port, we haven't played the Wii version yet (though this vid's promising), and even thought the gamecube version looked better, the PS2 version had some new features.

I have a fiance/girlfriend of 10 years, Full-Time Job (40+ hours), own a home (home improvements), have two dogs (walking/cleaning), all my friends work full-time and I still manage to get in plenty of video game time.
There are millions of gamers in the same situation, your excuse was LAME at best... - Anthop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2And here is a really funny and really >corny< advertisement for it.

- NikoKun, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Dang this looks like it will be fun! >= 3 I loved the original on GameCube, so I'm sure this will be lots of fun withe the aiming and motion! hehe
- kevyn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2the wii is an amazing pick up and play console, if you have to run out the hosue in 2mins, you can sneak in a cheeky game of bowling, or a round of tennis. its great fun with friends, and i just cant wait till a new racer comes out to replace double dash. RE4 looks sweet, to be honest i stopped caring about the RE series after number 2 (which was awesome i might add) - but this has got me interested again.
- totorototoro, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2ok, that looks like fun.

- mdouet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I never got to play this game (had a GCN, just never picked it up), and after hearing all the good things people have had to say about this, I will definitely be picking this up on the Wii for $30.
- mrkmrk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Where'd you hear this? I want to know the release date
- EtherGnat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I always forget about the Videos section now. I don't know why Digg can't have a checkbox for those that want them to appear on the front page.
- darkamster07, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1did anyone else catch the fight between what looked like Solid Snake and Leon? or was this always in the game and I just missed it?
.....or am I just completely ***** and seeing things? - McTendo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@ tikkimann
The PC version _was_ very ugly, but it got a patch (77megs?) that replaced the textures and fixed the lighting. I remember seeing before and after shots and the after shots were 10000000% better. If any of you plan on the getting the PC version for mouse support, make sure you get the patch so it doesn't ruin your experience. - Angostura, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Well, they certainly spent a lot of time getting the hair looking nice :-)
- KMye, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2If the video doesn't play the first time, just reload a couple times. Or maybe it's just my effed up system...
