- jesushitler, on 01/20/2008, -2/+29I hope this is true. I think Nintendo realizes a lot of people have been waiting a long time for this sequel and they will be keeping a close eye on the production so we don't see another Lair-type disaster.
- Groovester, on 01/20/2008, -1/+20Uh oh, they'll implement mandatory motion controls!
J/K, here is to them not making "Lair"-ing Kid Icarus - rickyisawesome, on 01/20/2008, -3/+16cue nintendo reviving every classic title for easy money, but hey, im not complaining.
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -0/+12A Kid Icarus game better come for the Wii... considering he is a playable SSBB character!
- Xelseragoth, on 01/20/2008, -0/+11Don't digg him down, he is almost right. They bashed the Wii horribly in the beginning for the graphics. Then, Lair failed. All of a sudden, they were right back on board liking Nintendo and everything they had to do.
- motang, on 01/20/2008, -2/+13Crossing my fingers hoping that this is true.
- Cdog923, on 01/20/2008, -1/+11Buried for being ignorant and stupid.
- avidlinuxuser, on 01/20/2008, -2/+11They never said that. Factor 5 has always liked Nintendo. Factor 5 from the very beginning said that they would like to work with nintendo again after completing lair.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 01/20/2008, -5/+13I thought Factor 5 were such graphics whores that they refuse to work on Nintendo systems.
- DefaultGen, on 01/20/2008, -2/+9Thank god Kid Icarus didn't have a lot of flying around and shooting and the Wii doesn't have some motion sensing controls for Factor 5 to destroy...
- TalkingBanana, on 01/20/2008, -0/+7***** yeah
- mrmacky, on 01/20/2008, -1/+8I remember Kid Icarus on the original GameBoy... now I'm going to have to dig out my collection of old cartridges and see if I still have it.
I would definitely buy a Wii for Kid Icarus. - iofthestorm, on 01/20/2008, -1/+7Hello? Rogue Squadron?
- Cdog923, on 01/20/2008, -1/+7Actually, K.I. and Metroid were released around the same time, and were the original Nintendo games to use that elaborate Password system.
Also, the second part of your comment makes no sense. If you're relating the Zelda 2 engine to Metroid's, then didn't all 2-D, sidescrolling games use Metroid's engine? - KnockoutNerd, on 01/20/2008, -1/+6The wii could use some Nintendo adventure games besides the main 3( since its Kid Icarus I think Nintendo will be a big part), I'm still holding out on the return of pikman.
- error2k2, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5PhoenixAvatar2 is right to a certain extent. Factor 5 called the Wii just a "Gamecube 1.5" and since then graphic/processor whores have been using that term.
- grumbel, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5There is nothing wrong with reviving a classic, it only starts to get problematic when they revive the very same classic each year.
- statrick, on 01/20/2008, -2/+7now all we need is Master Blaster for next gen!!!!!!
- Doomsan, on 01/20/2008, -1/+6Good, i hope this leads to the revival of another lost classic, StarTropics.
- MrObjectional, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5Schoolgirls don't wear pants.
- catfud, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5im sure he ment pantys
alteast thats what i imagined
cuz its hot - ldog, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5Funny that it's already been twenty years, but I remember playing it all the way through.
It was a basic 2d platformer. Nothing revolutionary, but it was solid game.
I do vaguely remember some eggplant-looking guys being really tough to get past. - teamparadox, on 01/20/2008, -0/+4Not so long ago Factor5 was bashing the Wii because it was so underpowered...Its amazing what happens to a company when they release a really crappy game. Guess that extra power cant give developers vision. The creative meeting at F5 was something along the lines of
"Lets take our star wars games and put them on land with dragons instead of spaceships!" - jaggedsphere, on 01/20/2008, -0/+4I'm in just as long as I don't have to run around with an Eggplant for a body...
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -1/+5heres a mock-up of what It really should be

Im sick of 3D games. - Ninjazn, on 01/20/2008, -0/+3This isn't a new site, it's the rebranding of a site that has been around for years and is reputable, Advanced Media Network (AMN) Games.
- doshindude, on 01/21/2008, -0/+3So, the graphics whoring company has come crawling back to Nintendo after they sold out to the PS3 and failed miserably...
I am glad that they developers of SW:RS are back on Nintendo's side, but can't but help think that they are being blatant hypocrites after what they said about the Wii. I will never look at them with the same respect again as I did in 2001. - doshindude, on 01/21/2008, -0/+3that's because Ice Climber on the NES sucked. Worst controls ever.
- djruden, on 01/21/2008, -0/+3It did have a sequel actually. Just like Metroid, the first (and only) sequel for Kid Icarus landed on the Game Boy.
- Shadic, on 01/21/2008, -1/+4And the PS3 and the 360 are just their previous systems with prettier graphics.
- gadgetlust, on 01/20/2008, -0/+3Screw Master Blaster -- I want me some Blaster Master.
- InvaderDem, on 01/20/2008, -1/+3I have it on my Virtual Console - it's a good reminder of how hard old Nintendo games could be. I wouldn't be shocked if they were making a game, since bringing Kid Icarus on Smash Brothers seemed kind of out of left field.
- ReeseKaine, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2So how will Pit fly, by closing his S-foils and going to lightspeed?
- turrican, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2I'm patiently waiting for Turrican...
- Seacor, on 01/21/2008, -0/+2Factor 5 is not a lazy third-party developer (midway anyone?) and they actually know (and care about) how to make a games shine on Nintendo consoles. While some developers rush games to market and don't care that they look and play like crap. Rogue Squadron II and Rogue Squadron III on the Gamecube were some of the best looking games of the last generation consoles.
- D3koy, on 01/20/2008, -1/+3Didn't we already hear this, or was it a rumor before? (sounds like it still is though...)
- Phendrana, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2Like they do with all their other games, right? Like all those Zeldas (4 in 9 years) and Marios (3 in 11 years). You know, I wish all these anti-Nintendo people were right. I'd love to play a new Mario or Zelda every year.
- Elranzer, on 01/22/2008, -0/+1Revive Star Tropics, already!
- skaldicpoet9, on 01/20/2008, -1/+2Please let this be true. If we aren't getting Bionic Commando at least we can have another NES classic. C'mon, make my day Nintendo.
- Cdog923, on 01/20/2008, -1/+2Pwnd.
- GhostyBoy, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1Are you ***** serious?
- Shadic, on 01/21/2008, -0/+1What, in his opinion isn't a kiddy game? Do you need lots of gore and swearing, or what?
Why can't you just enjoy something for being fun? - spectre_25gt, on 01/20/2008, -0/+1Master Blaster run bartertown!
- Nudar, on 01/20/2008, -1/+2Still doesn't explain their refusal to translate Earthbound 2/Mother 3.
- rebelphoenix, on 01/21/2008, -0/+1Its about damn time they came out with a new one.
- darkNiGHTS, on 01/21/2008, -0/+1This already was a rumor, but minus the Factor 5 part.
- berto2k, on 01/20/2008, -0/+1Kombo is the new name for the games section of AMN
- GhostyBoy, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1Why does everybody always bring up Ice Climbers when people talk about a new Kid Icarus game? Yes I want to fly around spearing people with a bow and arrrow...it doesn't mean I want to climb ice.
- Shadic, on 01/21/2008, -1/+2We haven't seen a new Ice Climbers title, though. :(
- doshindude, on 01/21/2008, -0/+1Kid Icarus had a Game Boy sequel (KI: Of Myths and Monsters), and it was actually BETTER than the original.
