- sinizuh, on 11/27/2007, -0/+26Pretty good idea having a release list for upcoming games built into the console. If they have little preview pages (like they do with virtual console) with a summary and a couple of screenshots/movies. Would allow for people who don't bother going online to see what's new.
- kiiwii, on 11/27/2007, -0/+22"Not everyone owns a DS."
In Japan it's darn close! - AshamedAmerican, on 11/27/2007, -2/+24Amusing this post is directly above the "Japan leads world in suicide" post.
- Tobiaswk, on 11/27/2007, -0/+19I like the idea - and hope they release a us/eu version soon!
The nintendo ds download station feature is a very cool thing. I am also VERY excited about the WiiWare soon coming. - PhrosTT, on 11/27/2007, -0/+19DS is gonna become the iPod of gaming... There's no reason I shouldn't be able to play NES, Genesis, and SNES games on it.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -2/+21*Crosses fingers for Brawl demo on December 3rd*
- MindStalker, on 11/27/2007, -1/+16What would really rock would be Wii demo downloads. Not everyone owns a DS.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+14Where would you download them to, though? They'd probably be pretty big, and so far, Nintendo hasn't exactly made a convenient storage solution its top priority.
- thegoudster, on 11/27/2007, -1/+13The DS demo feature is a great idea. It's a pain to go into stores where you can download 1 game and only play it until you turn the system off.
What I would really like to see is the ability to play virtual console games on the DS. - pharekyz, on 11/27/2007, -3/+14"...offers videos and DS"
I expect my free DS by Christmas, thank you very much. - dafragsta, on 11/27/2007, -4/+13Can we seriously stop using the word "drop" in that particular way?
- directive0, on 11/27/2007, -0/+9He means legitimately.
- directive0, on 11/27/2007, -0/+9The DS also has home brew and emulators, so its not like the functionality doesn't exist already.
- directive0, on 11/27/2007, -0/+7Besides the Channels, I think Nintendo DOES utilize whats there to its max. Its the third parties that need to pick it up.
- alphavision, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6Doesn't sound so stupid in Japanese: Minna no Nintendo. Probably gonna have a different name in the English release.
- Labut, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6The actual channel name is in Japanese "Minna no Nintendo", which translates roughly to Everybody Nintendo. If you're very creative enough, translate it yourself.
- smackafiyah, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4One way I did it is I have 2 wireless routers, one set for WPA-PSK (for my psp, ps3, laptop) and another one set for WEP (DS, media center). Both have hidden SSID and MAC filtering.
- cwilson, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4Any idea if/when the Wii will have the ability to be used as a DS Wifi connection point? I had heard it was supposed to do this at one point. Not a big deal, really, but I'd love to use the DS online from home and I am not willing to drop encryption to WEP just to play a game. The USB connector isn't an option for me unless they provide software for the Mac.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4They could really stand to make better use of their internet connectivity. Granted, it sounds like upcoming games are going to be a step in the right direction, but still... Plus, I was talking about the channels. They could do some really neat things with the concept, but it seems they're only just now starting to use it to its full potential
- danielsan1701, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4This is for DS demos. I imagine potential Wii demos would be WiiWare downloads or separate channels.
- bightchee, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3I did drop mine to WEP just for the DS. MAC filtering, hiding the SSID, and using a kick-ass key.... but I know better. It's not really secure, just better than no security. In between the rare online DS games I should just turn-off wi-fi.
- matthewf01, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Not enough storage.
- sremick, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Unfortunately the Wii's use of the SD card slot is braindead to the point of almost being useless.
Disclaimer: I own a Wii - maduin, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Spend 50 bucks on an adapter and a micro sd card and it's easier than a PSP.
- maduin, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2The one thing I hate about Nintendo is that they make my mind go crazy with thoughts of the possible and never deliver on what my imagination can think up. Like being able to download VC games and TV shows and movies to my DS. That Nintendo will make an official Slot-2 MicrsoSD cart to allow greater DS to Wii functionality. That Nintendo will release an HDD or expand SD card functionality to allow for game demo downloads. That someday the Wii will become a full-featured system. But being a Nintendo fan for over 20 years, I know what to expect, which is that Nintendo is just a big tease. Nintendo is a company that never gives you what you want, but when they do give you something, it's something you'll love.
- vulapine, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Nintendo of Everyone or Everyone's Nintendo, etc.
- PhilCaps, on 11/27/2007, -3/+5The Wii will rule the world.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3*sigh* It really does. I mean, even with its current hardware specs, the Wii could be doing so much more than it is. Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii, I just wish Nintendo would make better use of the opportunities they have.
- daridave, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3Isn't it already ?
- cwilson, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2VC games on the DS... that would be heaven. I'm not sure how well it would work for 64 games (the control scheme) but it would be great otherwise.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1SD card?
- jasonpoon, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I tried the new channel, it's so far the best online service provided by Nintendo (but still far behind the Sony and Microsoft's network). However the DS demo sucks, they are titles that released ages ago and games that no one would like to try the demo.
- Protoss, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1That would be sweet. Doubt it will happen though...Maybe when WiiWare launches we'll get a Mario Kart demo or something.
- tophu, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I'm expecting Nintendo to come out with a Virtual Console DS game that utilizes the extra memory cart like the Opera browser, or better yet an SD card reader in the GBA slot. However, I'm not expecting this to work for the VC games like the Wii, I'm expecting this to play back catalog of Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, Lynx, TurboExpress, etc. Basically, like the Wii Virtual Console is for home consoles, but for portables.
- TheKappa, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Looks a little lackluster...
- heysuburbia, on 11/27/2007, -1/+22 Videos showing the channel in action and explaining it:
http://wiinintendo.net/2007/11/27/everybodys-ninte ... - kravex, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Don't be silly, where would the Wii put it?
- dqderrick, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1This is exactly what I'm going to do as well. However, I'm only going to hide the SSID and add MAC filtering on the WEP encrypted router. I like the convenience of SSID and no MAC filtering on my WPA encrypted router so friends/family can get only easier when they visit. SUPER!
I don't like the USB dongle because I then have to leave my PC on... and I just recently enable auto-sleep after 45 minutes of inactivity... to think I used to just let my computer stay on 24hours a day... with a 800watt PSU in it. Jeez! What a waste of money. - Dannieman, on 12/10/2007, -0/+0on the channels menu. duh. where did the metroid preview go? where do VC games go? channel menu.
- Borgcube, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0Well, hey, there are a lot of card readers for DS, just try M3 Simply for starters. Sure, most of the people use it to illegally play DS games, but doesn't mean you should do it, right? I mean, you can use it for a bunch of other stuff like listening to music, watching videos etc. (just to be clear, there are a lot of other solutions, like DS-X etc., M3 is just an example, this is not advertising them)
- mydave, on 07/28/2008, -0/+0very good! I hope soon in USA we can have this!

http://www.trgovinca.org - bightchee, on 11/27/2007, -2/+1I've looked in to it. It's a bit harder since the DS doesn't natively have expansible memory from which you may load programs.
- stotty, on 11/27/2007, -2/+1Except that, strictly, if they didn't "go online" then they wouldn't be able to see those preview pages on their wii anyway.
- mywhitenoise, on 11/27/2007, -9/+7Kind of a stupid name for a channel, "Everybody's Nintendo"?
- Coffeedemon, on 11/27/2007, -4/+1yeah legitimate ... like all of your music collection surely is.
- Doopliss, on 11/27/2007, -6/+2Are you attempting to dictate peoples minds?
- bightchee, on 11/27/2007, -6/+2A modified PSP does the job for me.
At the Nintendo World store in NYC I was warned by another customer about playing my PSP in the store until I showed them I was playing Super Mario Bros. 2 - LeRenard, on 11/27/2007, -11/+4"Really, it sounds like the current content is less enthralling than the promise of future content." - Doesn't that describe the Wii as a whole?
