- hokeywebb22, on 11/06/2007, -4/+68They are saying if games can be that good then every other game since then has been an embarrassment.
- Mewchu11, on 11/13/2007, -4/+64No, but I fully expect 11/10's to start appearing before 2008 ends
- Mikey9oo, on 11/09/2007, -3/+60I understand what the reviewer was TRYING to say with the embarrassment stuff, but he didn't say it right. He was trying to say the Super Mario Galaxy is an embarrassment to everything that has recently come out before it, but his grammatical structure left it making little sense.
- wild, on 11/13/2007, -3/+35Any game in which I have fun is perfect. Scores don't matter.
- loganhid, on 11/07/2007, -10/+29Mario Games tend to be awesome and fun
- neuropsychguy, on 11/09/2007, -0/+18Did any one else get the impression that the reviewer liked the game? It was really subtle, like a 2x4 to the head is subtle.
Nice review though. - BambinosKrib, on 11/07/2007, -0/+17Dear SEGA, please make a Sonic game of this high standard. Oh how the mighty have fallen. *sigh* *sniff* :(
- SteveKubrick, on 02/11/2008, -1/+18Sure Crysis looks damn hot but is it going to be as much fun as this?... No frickin way - Super Mario Galaxy is what gaming is all about.
- LaughingBovine, on 11/09/2007, -3/+18Your opinions on those games are wrong.
Sorry. - spokenrope, on 11/06/2007, -0/+12If a game can't score a 10/10, then the score "10" is pointless and you might as well say that the scale is out of 9. And since no games score below a 7 ever anyways, then we would really just be giving games scores of 1, 2, or 3 (7, 8, or 9).
- Suspected, on 11/10/2007, -1/+12The wording was great. It's unfortunate that you reading comprehension abilities aren't mature enough to appreciate what a great opener that was.
- Robbothehood, on 11/12/2007, -0/+1010/10 implies that the game is as near perfection as that can be reasonably expected.
- Genjeta, on 11/06/2007, -2/+12The wait was over a week ago, on the internet anyways.
- whataboutdave, on 11/07/2007, -1/+10Badly worded? I thought it was clever.
- pathy, on 11/06/2007, -1/+10We're basing quality on how the market responds to things?
Well, *****. - fognozzle, on 11/06/2007, -1/+9See how it withstands the test of time. Suepr Mario 3 and Super Mario World are still classics. Bioshock, it seems, has already fallen off the radar. We shall see...
- Edrick, on 11/07/2007, -1/+9Why? So you could play Halo 3 with all your friends?
- ufee, on 11/06/2007, -0/+8Super Mario 3 is more deserving of a 10/10, IMO.
- gfunk84, on 11/07/2007, -0/+8Free Mario coin.
- spoiled1, on 11/13/2007, -18/+2610/10?
can a game be perfect? - ufee, on 11/06/2007, -1/+9Maybe not awesome, but plenty fun.
Wait, no. DDR sucks.
/ego - inactive, on 11/06/2007, -5/+13Super Mario*
You think Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix is awesome and fun? - darny, on 11/06/2007, -2/+9I'm only a couple of stars in, but I have to agree with the opening blurb of this article..this game does embarrass. The graphics are AMAZING, the game play is compelling. It is the best wii game I've tried yet, and I've had my hands on about 40 of them. If metroid prime corruption is good, this is great. If Zelda is amazing, this is mind blowing.
Don't know about a 10/10 though. 9.5/10 maybe. It's up there. - postalblowfish7, on 11/09/2007, -2/+9EGM didn't even give halo 3 straight 10s. you can look a lot of places and find the score you want to post on digg - but anyone who knows ANYTHING about gaming (yes, real gaming - not the FPS/RTS/MMORPG PC circlejerk) knows that Mario Galaxy getting a 10/10 is no surprise.
it's the fulfillment of the greatest promise in video game history: super mario 64. - CLShortFuse, on 11/06/2007, -0/+7No, the reviewer is just british. =Þ
- revenge7, on 11/13/2007, -0/+6No. Duke Nukem Forever gets an 11/0.
- tankdilla, on 11/09/2007, -0/+6It really is amazing that almost a year after the Wii has been released, it's still hard to find one. Can't even order one online from Best Buy.
- speccy, on 11/06/2007, -1/+7I'm 25 stars in on this game and I can say that it's an all-time classic. Beautiful graphics, top-notch game play and a fantastic classical music score. It also makes full use of the Wii's motion detection and pointing controls. Even replaying levels in SMG is a joy, I haven't done that in a game for years. Gaming doesn't come much better.
- Miche1987, on 11/06/2007, -1/+7Yeah...if reviewers like a game, they're gonna give the game a good score.
...bah, who am I kidding, that's ridiculous. - hoowahman, on 11/06/2007, -1/+6I'm just over 40 stars in and I am really addicted to it. Probably play 1-2 hrs a day now if not more. My girlfriend who doesn't really play video games cept mario back in the day on the NES has picked this up and started playing she is having a blast. Also I haven't touched my Wii since '06 for lack of games that really interest me. As I am playing this game I asked myself what are other devs doing wrong and nintendo does it so right? There is just so many new aspects created by nintendo to make it fun for a platform jumper. The way gravity works or the certain tricks you have to do to get to areas are just great. Really gets me thinking about timing and such. This game will sell a lot, but who will be surprised about that? It's a must have.
- Destinatus, on 11/05/2007, -2/+7theres an update, just go to the official site and download the 1.9g beta disc
- boxybrzown, on 11/06/2007, -0/+5Anybody that gets so caught up in scoring and rating minutia is a 0/10.
- boxybrzown, on 11/06/2007, -0/+5It would've taken less time to Google it than to post this, let alone wait for an answer you're probably not going to get...
- Ninjab3ar, on 11/06/2007, -0/+5Its probably how it worded in the UK. This _is_ eurogamer.
- whatthefu, on 11/06/2007, -5/+9How about we wait for it to come out?
- Gryffydd, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4Wow, I think the writer probably had to wipe off his keyboard and monitor by the time he got done writing that review...
- inactive, on 11/05/2007, -0/+4And by he, you mean Margaret.
- therealgeddylee, on 11/07/2007, -9/+13Yeah, it definately took me like 9 reads of the description to figure out if it was criticism, or sarcasm, or something..
- inactive, on 11/05/2007, -3/+7how did you get past the security thing, assuming you have wiikey? i killed my dl when i found out it doesn't work
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -1/+5Scanning was not a flaw. It was a largely OPTIONAL element of the gameplay that provides you with a background to the "paper thin story" that you people insist on whining about. Sure, there are points where you're forced to scan things but I don't see how it's any more tedious than being forced to enter a code or push a button in a PC game.
- bblande, on 11/07/2007, -30/+34Not sure I get the whole embarrassment comments....someone care to clarify?
- burnblue, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4Please do yourself a favor and get at least halfway through the game
- WolfDV, on 11/08/2007, -1/+5I'd say nearly perfect . . so far I've gotten 38 stars and am pretty impressed with it
HD resolutions on the wii would have been nice - mwalker05, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4even if he did...
- burnblue, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4Don't think you know what's meant by good graphics. Good graphics in high or low resolution is still good graphics. It's not just about direction... it's about the colors, lighting and everything. Regardless, I don't have an HDTV so you're going to have a hard time showing me where the flaws are
- puto, on 11/13/2007, -6/+10If that crappy biochoke got 10, then expect a 20/10 to be perfect
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -3/+7They've been saying that since 2000. 11/10s are vaporware.
- accessviolation, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4Oh, well damn. I'm going to go preorder. BRB.
- darny, on 11/06/2007, -0/+3my 2 favorite parts:
1. the textures (water, shiny stuff)
2. the way planets in the backdrop are never really "just in the background"...the backdrop seems to be part of the navigable world. Never seen that in a game.
runner up
3. Queen bee!! - vulapine, on 11/05/2007, -1/+4I haven't played a game on the Wii yet that I disliked, but I have an idea of what I like before I shell out cash for a game, much less 6-10 times that for a system.
