- MSstar, on 01/30/2008, -1/+44The goggles!!! THEY DO NOTHING!!
- gungaroo22, on 01/30/2008, -1/+20Who is this "sometimes" and what's he trying to pull?!
- TheAngryMob, on 01/30/2008, -2/+21What was that towards the end? A Wii-mote adapter for GameCube?
- doshindude, on 01/30/2008, -1/+15Nintendo once said that the Wii started out as an attachment for the GCN.
- eH9116, on 01/30/2008, -1/+11undercover slang for the Nyko+MadCatz conglomerate.
- PFinn, on 01/30/2008, -2/+10imagine if they could project an image into the goggles and use the attached controller to track head movements, then when you turned your head your screen changed to simulate you looking around in a game...then with a separate nunchuck or gun you could have a really new and fun FPS....
- stealthdave, on 01/30/2008, -2/+9Teddy bears? Maybe now we can expect the long-delayed South Park video game: "Sexual Harassment Panda!"
bad touch, BAD TOUCH!!! - ozroy, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6I like this guys solution much better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw - StealthTomato, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6Those goggles look useless. I bet they don't even do anything.
Also, did anybody else catch the glove-less Power Glove mark 2? - TheVirus, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5You could always say it anyway and get dugg down.
- mogebier, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3Those were all really gay.
Liberace gay, in fact. - gthyb, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3This is stupid?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw - FoxOrian, on 01/30/2008, -1/+4The wiimote in the Zapper handle seems really off in proportion, that zapper must be novelty size!
- EtherGnat, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3I think you're being dugg down unfairly. Even seemingly ridiculous items like the Teddy Bear could be cool. Imagine a game for kids with a voice-controlled, animated Teddy Bear. Imagine an exercise bike racing game where how fast you go is determined by how fast you peddle. Imagine a wireless steering wheel that only costs $30 because power, wireless capabilities, and signal processing are all provided by the Wiimote.
- emjaymj, on 01/30/2008, -1/+4Isn't that still what it is?
Just kidding, I absolutely love my Wii. - doomeyes, on 01/30/2008, -0/+2Thank you, EtherGnat. It only takes imagination. Maybe some people don't have it.
- inactive, on 01/30/2008, -1/+3FIGURE 25 POWER GLOVE
ZOMG!!!! - jrod7783, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2What is Chuck Norris doing in Fig. 12?
- Dgen_X, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2The goggles...are for Rock Band Vol II: Head banger's Ball
- aceallways, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2look at the youtube link above, same result, much simpler and cheaper
- Charklii, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Despise away. It seems as though nobody else cares.
- t0ken, on 01/30/2008, -1/+3It's JUST like I'm riding the real thing!
- thomashauk, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2I think they put that there just for that joke.
- EtherGnat, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1"What the hell is the chair for?? (rocking chair mario?)"
I'd guess it's more along the lines of utilizing speakers and rumble in the chair. It could also possibly charge the remote (a number of gaming chair require being plugged in or have a rechargeable battery). - grumbel, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Such a bike thing is already available and doesn't even need a Wiimote:
http://www.fisher-price.com/img/product_shots/K505 ... - Gneekman, on 01/30/2008, -1/+2I love Fig. 25. It's so bad.
- smoger, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1..that could be from before the size of the wiimote was finalized..
- watchfordog, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2where's the wiimote strap-on? Back me kevin
- cstaylor, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1A skateboard? How would that even work?
- Zamfir, on 01/30/2008, -2/+3Can't wait for the Wiimote ass adapter!
- Twee, on 02/02/2008, -0/+1Power glove FTW!
- mikesuds, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1**I move away from the mic to breathe in
- ThatNuttyPeej, on 01/30/2008, -1/+2Step 1: Make a hole in a box.
Step 2: Put your wiimote in that box.
Step 3: Make her open the box. - Lonecow, on 02/01/2008, -0/+1Zee goggles! They do nothing!
- Scr4tchFury, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1And it has a cord too!
- diggdowner, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1No one ever gets the quote right...
- jizzlies, on 01/30/2008, -2/+2I'm waiting for Wii Fit to come out!
- Jareth86, on 01/30/2008, -1/+1down already?
- HydrogenOxide, on 01/30/2008, -2/+2http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/wii-remote ...
Rechargeable battery Dock? - PFinn, on 01/30/2008, -2/+2you are reading an article that was made by a group of people who just 'happened' to be checking for other Wii-related patent requests...it seems to me like a 'fanboy' site is the only one who would be doing something like this, what did you expect from the title?
- SublimeRuin, on 01/30/2008, -2/+2Wiifanboy is pretty well known for having good quality factual content.
- chamberlanderic, on 02/03/2008, -0/+0I'm suprise there are no vibrator ... you know, to get to a more mature audience
- DizzyDragon, on 01/31/2008, -0/+0Who wouldn't like to attach a see-through cube to his wiimote,
think of all the possibilities! Now why didn't I think of that.. - fhornplayer, on 01/30/2008, -1/+1The glasses peripheral could eventually be used for something along the lines of what's described in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw
I can't imagine what the teddy bear one would be... - sfriedlander, on 01/31/2008, -0/+0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw
- espempire, on 01/30/2008, -1/+1kurt rambis is that you?
- BbIT, on 01/30/2008, -1/+0What the hell is the chair for?? (rocking chair mario?) and why would mounting the Wii-mote to your forearm change the functionality of the unit??
I know the block on the first couple of drawings are to represent an "unknown" future device (in the same way the Internet is usually depicted with a cloud formation on paper).
But the rest of the device patent drawings are either already being marketed (bat, raquet) or are useless (bike pedal, skateboard wheel). - jaytek13, on 01/30/2008, -1/+0I'm assuming the box is a battery charger. That would be nice.
Also, I'm surprised there is a lack of ideas for the use of 2 controllers for single player actions. Like, you could have a gun peripheral for a shotgun, use 1 remote for aiming and another for cocking the shotgun. I'm sure there are many other things that could be accomplished through the use of 2 controllers, too. - sfriedlander, on 01/31/2008, -1/+0agreed
- TorontoJays, on 01/30/2008, -6/+5The bike looks pretty sweet I can't wait to hop on that and ride around my living room
