- tehxen3, on 11/20/2007, -1/+22Bloody yanks bought them all.
- radink360, on 11/20/2007, -2/+23Maybe people should stop promising things to their kids for xmas before they actually have the item.
- groo68, on 11/20/2007, -1/+20I found one in my living room.
- mrsims82, on 11/20/2007, -2/+18I have one! Ahahahaahaahahahahahahahaha!!!!
- qetuo, on 11/20/2007, -0/+13i found some today at play.com and amazon they where nearly £300, for the stanard wii
- vogelzang, on 11/20/2007, -3/+15Gamers.
- cinnix, on 11/20/2007, -0/+9suppose he said "***** yanks" instead, would that expression make much sense?
it shouldn't be taken so literally. - Drax0n, on 11/20/2007, -1/+9I have had a 360 and a Wii since launch and I got bored of the 360 WAY faster, I love wii sports, Resident evil 4 (Its awsome yea yea remake bull crap with the wii mote, pointing and shooting, and the incredibile under hyper benifit of having a speaker in the controller makes for a immersive game. That and it was only $20 NEW) my 360 on the other hand is collecting dust. Why? because every game on the system is the same, from gears of war, to condemned, to Halo 3 , to bioshock to call of duty 4 to (I can go on but you get the idea) they are all just another FPS where you sti around and move a little joy pad pretending that somehow it has to do with aiming and shooting.
I'm looking forward to SSB and Wii Mario kart, and currently loving Mario galaxy so just because you can't get past your FPS obsession of playing the same game with the same controller, with the same completely irrelevant controls(using a joystick to aim and shoot is like using a keyboard for a flight sim), with the same style, with the same goal (kill bad guys), have fun. But dont assume that because your an FPS addict who pays to play a rehashed game just with different textures for bad guys and walls that everyone else should agree with you. I would give up my 360 before my wiii without even a second thought). Hell half the games on the 360 use the same FPS engine, the other half are madden games. - winmywii, on 11/20/2007, -3/+10I'll sell you my wii. I never play it.
As long as you pay me in euros. I don't want any dollars. - Supadude, on 11/20/2007, -0/+7I have 4. I have 4 Wiis and you only have 3 Wiis.
- superspud, on 11/20/2007, -1/+7This is pretty unbelievable...
- directive0, on 11/20/2007, -0/+6I already have a 360 and I can tell you that my Wii still holds its own in my game rotation.
- siddhartha1138, on 11/20/2007, -2/+8I feel sorry for you. Grumpytard.
- FloppyLlamaDigg, on 11/20/2007, -0/+5I have 3.
- rikwakefield, on 11/20/2007, -0/+5I would pay the asking price just to play Mario Galaxy.
- markthegoth, on 11/20/2007, -3/+7agreed with you, my comment is getting dugg down though as i'm sure you'rs will be, wii sports IS fun, but there are just too many ps2 converted games that you waggle the wii mote at.
- eddywolf, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4( Insert stereotypical view that all Americans are morbidly obese, ignorant, uneducated tools)
- Krakn3Dfx, on 11/20/2007, -4/+8Mario Galaxy is the first game since launch that has really made the Wii worth owning again (well, okay, Metroid Prime 3 was decent :) ). The next will probably be SSBB. That's pretty much the Nintendo 1st party lineup, so god only knows when the next game that makes people happy they own a Wii will be after that.
Mario Galaxy is amazing tho, there's no doubt. - MxM111, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4I can also ask in a similar way, what games does XBox360 have except halo? See what I mean?
- Anoobis, on 11/20/2007, -2/+5Its funny when you relate that ($615) to the original price of the PS3 in the US.
I'd be selling on ebay if I had one. Actually. No. That's a silly thing to say, I'd be constantly playing it. - flair1, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3I love how people say they have a Wii and haven't played it in 6 months. If you hate it so much, why don't you sell it on Ebay for the price you paid or higher? Good luck reselling a 360 or PS3 at a price close to what you paid for it.
- ShugNinx21, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3How many Mario games can you play before you get sick of it? Lets see...
Halo had been around for 6 years and has 3 games.
Splinter Cell has been around 5 years and has 4 games, plus another in 2008.
There are 6 Super Mario Games in 22 years, unless you want to count lost levels, then 7.
This only taking into account Home consoles. So, you can play at least 7 Super Mario games in 22 years without getting sick of him. - williej81, on 11/20/2007, -2/+5Wow, at least three AAA games on their best franchises in the first year and you still aren't happy? That's...sad.
- skyfire1, on 11/20/2007, -2/+5It's not worth it. Get a 360 or a PS3 instead. Remember, Tickle Me Elmos are hard to find too.
- Shaflugi, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3When I did that, my parents would threaten to MAKE me shut up if I didn't do it on my own.
- wbgo, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3Hundreds of Brits were ordering Wiis at amazon.de, who've since started to refuse to ship them to UK addresses, and are still ordering at any German websites they can find.
Totally weird how there's no shortage whatsoever in Germany (and there hasn't been since day one), but they've always been as rare as rocking horse ***** in the UK. I mean, it's a 6-hour drive from Germany to the UK. Smacks of bad logistics on the part of Nintendo. - dickbain, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4Avoid the blog spam and link directly to the article:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/m ... - lonnieh, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3but I also have this pie...
- neocr0n, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3Anyone in America with a wii who is not using it, stick that thing on UK eBay now. People are willing to pay up to £400 and with exchange rates today whats that? over $800 anyway.
- rikwakefield, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2You can find one if you look hard enough. I did.
- Gir53457, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3There's a real Zelda Wii title in development, plus hundreds of potential first and third party franchises.
- offspring06, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2I don't know why you got dugg down.
- jerrycan, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2We need a new FZERO and Mario KART with full online support for the Wii
- Gir53457, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2I had to lurk in the rafters of a San Jose shopping mall for 3 weeks, constantly watching. I honed my senses so I could smell the contents of a UPS box. After waiting for so long my prize finally arrived and the moment that switchblade sliced open the tape on the box I made my attack. I pounced the Gamestop clerk and made off with my prize; the severed head of some dude named Carl. I kinda forgot the Wii at that point.
- rabidbob, on 11/21/2007, -0/+2US Wii = NTSC
EU Wii = PAL
US Wii + EU TV = Lose
US TV + EU Wii = Lose
Therefore:
(USTV EUTV) + (USWii EUWii) = 2Lose
No ... wait ... - lonnieh, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3because everybody knows that almost every game should be a first person shooter
- springboks, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Buried! - Brits aren't starving or going to die! I suggest these "panicky, possibly hyperventilating" Brits calm down.
- Shaflugi, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2It's tears of war, get it right.
- directive0, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Right now? Orange box and SMG are getting most of my attention, occasionally Halo3, Battalion Wars 2.
- frobozz0, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Agreed. I don't have a single friend who bought a Wii that still plays it. They all moved on to PS3's and 360's.
- Double-Z, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2So? We don't want to be in the same group as the french. Give us some credit. ;o)
- mon11uk, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2I ordered one online last December for my brother's birthday, and got it in Mar this year! For UK shoppers, call stores like Curry's and even Tesco or Woolworth's frequently, as they might have limited shipments which are not widely publicized. Also, scour geek sites online with the right search terms and you may get lucky with some inside information.
- gudnbluts, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Because it's cheap, and the controller's just great. So much more fun playing on it than any other console I've tried.
I've heard non-gaming adults talking about the Wii at work, having bought one for the kids, and started playing it themselves. That just doesn't happen with other consoles. - AreTooDeTo, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2this is why i waited in line for 12 hours outside walmart (in the cold) to get mine a year ago
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 11/21/2007, -0/+1do you have mario galaxy yet? you should check it out, its probably what makes the wii worth purchasing at this point.
- Padwah, on 11/21/2007, -0/+1No it isn't, it's from Footbal Factory.
- hiro, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Yeah right, I've had one for months and 2 of my work colleagues have bought Wiis without problem from Argos. Buried for not-very-subtle Nintendo hype
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -2/+3dood those grapes must be *****
- zeebo, on 11/21/2007, -0/+1Umbrella Chronicles is pretty good, I just wish it was 4 player. Even if most people would wind up using that for two player John Woo action anyway.
- zeebo, on 11/21/2007, -0/+1It hasn't 'become' a secular holiday, it pretty much always has been, since before the Romans combined a whole bunch of sun god related holidays to create Sol Invictus.
