- postalblowfish7, on 11/03/2007, -0/+45does this mean we'll have to deal with people camping for red snappers?
- keozen, on 10/26/2007, -0/+28Heck, I could post a blog post saying I'd heard a rumor that the next Animal Crossing will be a first person shooter with full ragdoll physics and I'd have as many sources as this article.
- ButchersBoy, on 10/26/2007, -1/+20OK, I love Animal Corssing, and my missus more so, but this article says ***** all.
- MechaZain, on 10/26/2007, -3/+19Too vague and not enough cited sources for me to Digg.
- internetcoward, on 10/25/2007, -1/+15simple, do what all mmo's do, have in-game days and time that are universal...
- wild, on 10/26/2007, -1/+15Dude, give me a machine gun and ragdoll physics in an Animal Crossing village? I wouldn't get off the couch for weeks.
- Zeldafreak104, on 10/26/2007, -1/+13At fist I thought oh, cool....
then I remembered it will have to use nintendo's online... - dxprog, on 10/26/2007, -1/+12And where are the facts backing up all these claims?
- Rosaka, on 10/27/2007, -1/+12They will probably go by clock times of the person's personal town. It will probably be easier to visit others. If not, possibly use specific servers based on their own time zones. All I know is, my friend showed me this link, I got excited and scared at the same time. This game will own me.
- Goombellaofgoom, on 10/26/2007, -0/+10And scouring the land for rainy towns to catch coelecanths in.
- bifflarken, on 10/26/2007, -2/+12I wonder how they'll handle the clock times, as well as KK Slider. I don't want to have to wait until midnight if he decides he's going to play his stuff 8pm PST...
- elcow, on 10/26/2007, -0/+10how i mine for coelecanth?
- jjremy, on 10/25/2007, -0/+9I know how you feel. I love AC. But I don't want to become an MMOer.
- Goombellaofgoom, on 10/25/2007, -0/+9Or nerf-type guns, boffer swords, and water balloons. Why go for real violence when goofy, play violence can be so much more creative? Pillow fight! Snowball fight! Fish-slapping fest! The possibilities could be endless.
- dualscreenman, on 10/25/2007, -0/+8'Cuz blowing cute ***** up is awesome. Always.
- taintedzodiac, on 10/26/2007, -1/+9Rumor control, please. We need some facts rather than "so and so hinted at."
- BuckleButt, on 10/25/2007, -0/+8So one single server for all players to unite on? Sounds cool, but what about players visiting my town or me visiting someone else's town? I'd like to see both options.
- Goombellaofgoom, on 10/25/2007, -1/+7Oops, wrong reply button. Digg me down please.
- maduin, on 10/26/2007, -0/+6I guarantee there will be furries in home.
- CrushThemTorg, on 10/26/2007, -1/+4I read "Halo 3, Home" like the XP Home version of Halo 3, which I assume would do nothing but crash and not allow you to change guns.
This rumor's been swirling around for a couple days about Animal Crossing as an MMO. It'd be neat only if if it circumvented the stupidity of Friend Codes, which ruined Pokemon. None of my friends dare to battle my mighty Luxio ... or even own DSes. - Cowmin, on 10/26/2007, -1/+4I'm just gonna go catch a coelacanth.
- daizaru, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3Honestly, Animal crossing always felt like an MMO to me... really grind intensive. My favorite part was that based on the time of day it would tell me to go to bed and not let me access parts of the game. This game had all the aspects of most mmo's except for the most part it was offline... what better idea but to open up the concept of MMO's to a really young generation. A genre of gaming that I personally feel is as addictive as cigarettes. Obviously not from a chemical physical perspective but addictive none the less.
- Elranzer, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3Nah. Sony's PS3 Home will just be filled with attractive, athletic avatars played by unattractive, fat, emo teens.
- goldliop, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2Oh boy, this reminds me about those sonic in smash bros brawl rumors....
and we all know how wrong they were!
...
oh wait... - internetcoward, on 10/25/2007, -0/+2It woudl be interesting to see how they would do this, obviously on more than one server, but as far as towns go, maybe you can move in and out like your neighbors in WW. Maybe you can even pick an animal race to be... and maybe that could even effect the type of house you could get and items and various other things!!!
- NikoKun, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2I wish they would at least give us something to go by, here... I love Animal Crossing, but they wont talk about it... XD
- JohnyD, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Agreed. Totally misleading title. Burried.
But I cannot WAIT for the games release...
ps: finally completed my mush set this year. ;) - sparkmonkeyz, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Personally I think that it adds to the fun, thinking back to when my friends and I would put down whatever we were playing to see KK Slider, or the Turnip Lady those bright and early Saturdays. It made me mad when other friends would get stuff cause they did the time change, that's like cheating.
- wild, on 10/25/2007, -1/+2omg!!! OMG!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!
- BearinG, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Dugg for potential
- Goombellaofgoom, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Don't toy with us, bloggers (and other media people). Too many people have been dreaming of an Animal Crossing MMO for too long. We don't need our hopes crushed again, and do not appreciate rumors like this that may get debunked a month later.
- angito, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1IGN has a brief article on this with an actual source (kinda)
http://wii.ign.com/articles/830/830130p1.html - cyberwarriorx, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1Yeah, most places I've seen this news on have cited it as being a rumor. Buried as inaccurate.
- Elranzer, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1It's rather simple. If your town is in the Pacific time zone, he appears at 8PM PST. If your town is in the Eastern timezone, he appears at 8PM EST. When you travel to someone's town, you travel to their time zone. It's a great alternative to the system clock "time travelling" of the past (less weeding involved too, I hope).
- esheep932, on 10/26/2007, -1/+1i hope this isn't just an upgraded version of the ability to visit your friends towns. and as far as how the time would work, i imagine that there would be servers based on different time zones. one server for all AC players? i don't think so.
- superfly007, on 10/26/2007, -2/+2link to anything to back up your claim? Had to bury as innacurate.
- infermon, on 10/26/2007, -1/+1Good idea but I don't see Nintendo not useing friend codes anytime soon...
- ursername180, on 10/25/2007, -1/+1nah! ur laem.
- o0joshua0o, on 10/25/2007, -1/+1I freakin' love Animal Crossing, so this is exciting news!
- xpeacexbbyx, on 06/23/2008, -0/+0Alrite, i am done with reading this crap. Remember when animal crossing came out for gamecube...every one was wanting version 2 for the gamecube and it never happened. Then the ds came out years later and everyone was really happy about it yet they were disapointed with the friend codes. Now we are siting here waiting for animal crossing to come out for the wii but when you read some of this form and watch the youtube videos, you start to think it might not even happen. I give it 2 more years for it to come out. Hopefully when im 16 i still will want to play this.
- masskurec, on 03/04/2009, -0/+0good choice
http://xptweak.net - VillageIdiot21, on 10/26/2007, -1/+1You people expect too much out of this game. I LOVE Animal Crossing, but think about the facts, and factor those in to what the worst the game could be.Even if it doesn't meet all the expectations, and its the worst it could be, its gonna be one of the best games for the Wii. It is going to be a pretty incredible game... No matter what!
PS. Stop all the rumors. Untruthful rumors are like sex without climaxing, its a terrible torture. - tuddy666, on 10/31/2007, -0/+0Yup, as soon as they work out how to mod their avatars...
...I'm suddently glad I bought a Wii instead of a PS3 - crossers, on 07/17/2008, -0/+0I digg it!

http://www.chasr.org/ - 77boy84, on 10/26/2007, -3/+1Yeah, Nintendo needs to give us the option to listen to kids scream in our ears.
Seriously. - zephc, on 10/25/2007, -3/+1Hello Kitty Adventure Island!
- skyfire1, on 10/26/2007, -4/+1I would be so excited if I was 10 right now.
- bifflarken, on 10/26/2007, -10/+2I wonder how they're going to deal with the clock times, i.e.- KK Slider will appear when?
- Cyber_Akuma, on 11/01/2007, -10/+2An Animal Crossing MMO?
So, its basically a G-Rated Second Life with Nintendo skins/models?
At least with Sony's Second Li... I mean "home" there won't be furries... - anotherjeff, on 11/01/2007, -16/+1this is so lame.
