- XtheXlanternX, on 10/23/2008, -2/+45"An" is used when preceding a vowel sound. Since one would pronounce SNES with the sound linguistically associated with the schwa, "an" would be appropriate.
- deadseksy, on 10/23/2008, -3/+43About ***** time. I've been waiting for the right game to buy a super nintendo.
- Smokeydabear, on 10/23/2008, -3/+42Is there any chance this could get me laid?

- Osirus1156, on 10/23/2008, -2/+21How do you even put it on the SNES?
- shutaro, on 10/23/2008, -2/+17We Germans are not all sunshine und smiles....
- GiggleStick, on 10/23/2008, -0/+15They're called balls.
- Kosh, on 10/23/2008, -2/+17Not that either.
- hatepaste, on 10/23/2008, -6/+20Nice Nirvana reference in title.
- Shadic, on 10/23/2008, -0/+14He did it on an SNES, something that was never done with an official title. Try not being a dick sometimes.
- koonchu, on 10/23/2008, -2/+15poidh: According to "Elements of Style" by Strunk, you're a moron. The designation of "an" is intended to linguistically facilitate the vocal pronunciation of words. "An SNES game" is correct.
Oh. You're a ***** troll too. - shutaro, on 10/23/2008, -0/+12@doshindude: The trick is to submerge the SNES in water.
- doshindude, on 10/23/2008, -0/+12diffusion of water across a cell membrane?
- paterade724, on 10/23/2008, -0/+12overload
- Dannychico, on 10/23/2008, -10/+22Ambitious. Let me just go grab my two multitaps and eight controllers. And my time machine. 'Cause it's not 1992.
- Cideu, on 10/23/2008, -0/+12Do you have a blank ROM cartridge, 2 multitaps, and 8 SNES controllers? Not being a jerk, I'm actually curious.
- shutaro, on 10/23/2008, -3/+14schwa?!?
- billygreen23, on 10/23/2008, -0/+11Seriously, who has 7 friends that would sit down to play this. I could scrounge up 2 maybe 3.
- awtripp, on 10/23/2008, -0/+11Yes, however it is also for other people. Being a machine, the SNES does not discriminate like its human counterparts.
- Smeed, on 10/23/2008, -1/+11Either you're as dense as a brick of lead or you dont appreciate how much this guy accomplished on such old hardware.
- CYR1X, on 10/23/2008, -1/+10Super Bomberman did up to 4, what a great game.
- inactive, on 10/23/2008, -1/+10He 's not your buddy. guy!
- veriix, on 10/23/2008, -1/+9wow, how young are you? nintendo was/is called n.e.s. super nintendo was/is called s.n.e.s. If you said "snez" to me I would think you're on crack.
- Grazfather, on 10/23/2008, -1/+9You can buy tools that plug into usb and let you load roms onto a blank cartridge.
- Chebsi, on 10/23/2008, -0/+8Now that's just crazy.
- MrSteamTank, on 10/23/2008, -1/+9He's not your guy, friend!
- AlThor880, on 10/23/2008, -0/+8I AM more than old enough to remember the SNES and I only ever used "ess en ee ess" to refer to the system. Perhaps it's a regional thing, like soda/pop etc, but I've only ever heard it referred to in this way from my friends. It is an acronym after all (yes I know some acronyms are used as words, i.e. SQL = Sequel etc).
- Elranzer, on 10/23/2008, -0/+7Still has better games than the PS3.
- Gagle, on 10/23/2008, -0/+7touché.
And mathematically accurate too ! - honeymustardn, on 10/23/2008, -1/+8He might have been saying SNES as "Sness", rather than S-N-E-S. I know I do...
- coyote1284, on 10/23/2008, -1/+7"Smells Like Teen Spirit" was playing on the radio when I read the title
- Elranzer, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5As a child of the 80s, I can speak on this...
The NES (N.E.S.) was popularly referred to in phonetic anagram form ("Ness") so much so that Nintendo created a character for Mother 2 (Earthbound) based on this. I've heard it pronounced this way more than "En Ee Ess" or "the Nintendo".
However, I do believe no one ever pronounced the SNES as "Sness". I've only ever heard it vocally called "Super Ness", "Super Nintendo" or "Ess En Ee Ess". - AndrewMoyer, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5We need an ASCII version of the Sham Wow guy for times like this.
- rowjimmy, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5i don't know a single person who calls is "snez" - it has always been es-en-ee-es (saying the letters) or "super nintendo"
and while i'm not that old (23), in terms of video game consoles i'm definitely more of a senior citizen than a good percentage of digg - yohnstoppable, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5And yet, no one has modified Final Fantasy 6 to let me keep General Leo. Wtf
- petebot, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5You following me, Camera guy?
- XtheXlanternX, on 10/23/2008, -0/+5Shutaro: While there are only a, e, i, o, u, and sometimes y operating as vowels in written langauge, there are at least two sounds capable of being produced by each vowel. For example, in the word bite and the word bit, the letter "i" makes a different sound in each. When you map speech, there are different symbols that are used to refer to different sounds produced by the same letter. Most of the time, it is simply a lower case i (in the case of bite) or an uppercase I (in the case of bit), but the letter "e" is capable or producing more than just two sounds, so there are symbols that are used to denote what sound is used (including the schwa).
- degree, on 10/23/2008, -2/+7i like trees
- steelclash84, on 10/23/2008, -0/+4So, can you read the article?
- STARTSOMETHING, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4If they started making snes games again. I think I would buy them.
- psykiv, on 10/24/2008, -0/+47 Friends? Yea. 7 Real Life friends, yea. 7 Friends willing to play this
