fcruz1331, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5What made Sonic popular was the original gameplay, but now that we have such powerful gaming consoles it seems like Sega is forcing Sonic into the 3D age. The games have changed so drastically that the only things that are the same are the characters. The only way to get Sonic back on the map is to stick to portable consoles with 2D sidescrolling games or figure out a way to do that on the big systems

That's a questionable proposition, but it's safe to assume that few 3D Sonic titles have lived up to the public's expectations.
- agentb111, on 07/24/2008, -0/+6There has never been a good 3D Sonic title. They tried to make it happen. We tried to enjoy them. Just doesn't work. File them next to Castlevania 64 etc.
  - KingGoonie, on 07/24/2008, -1/+5I actually really enjoyed Castlevania 64. Ok maybe I should taek the really out of there... but I enjoyed it from what I remember. There were parts that annoyed the hell out of me, but a good borrow overall... lol maybe it helps I borrowed and didn't pay for it? Or that I didn't play it until hearing all the negative reviews about it so it got that "well this isn't THAT bad" quality for me?
    
    And Sonic Adventure was ok, I would even venture to say kinda good.... Sonic Adventure 2 was worse, but not horrible. Neither of them was worth the price overall and they are crap compared to the 2D games, but I played worse.
