- winstonc, on 03/09/2009, -1/+30Wow, these are lame.
- malechite, on 03/09/2009, -1/+20Awww I thought this was going to be a list of things like getting into World -1
- z00k, on 03/09/2009, -0/+17Adding on to this list.
Takeshi's Challenge
"Once you get to the end of the level and touch a shrine, your screen changes and becomes entirely black except for what looks like Beat's head. All online evidence points to this being the final boss. Which doesn't make much sense; how are you supposed to beat a black screen with a head on it?
The answer: by hitting him with any button... Twenty Thousand Times
Yes, the man's got 20,000 hit points and you have to deplete them one at a time, in nonstop succession. If you manage to accomplish this, then congraturation, you've won Japan's most frustrating game. Your prize is: another text box from Beat, then a frozen screen."

- Frozenpees, on 03/09/2009, -0/+10Wow, when I saw Bible Adventure's, that totally brings back memories. I used to only be able to play that game because it was the only game deemed "Christian enough" by my parents. It totally sucked..
- TheNik, on 03/09/2009, -0/+7If people were tired of them they wouldn't be on the front page. That's how voting works.
- midbc, on 03/09/2009, -0/+7it's a glitch
- dancecmdr, on 03/09/2009, -0/+7Read the article title, this is only for NES games. Pokemon didn't appear until the NES was long gone.
- boydrew, on 03/09/2009, -0/+6and the Moses game which had the theme song of "father abraham" in 8-bit glory was AMAZING. dunno why you'd find that crappy.... lol
that game developer was really pushing the industry... - zyklon, on 03/09/2009, -1/+7Glitching on Sega Genesis was a hell of a bunch of fun, too, especially when you discover the debug mode on Sonic 1.
- namelessXsilent, on 03/09/2009, -0/+5Glitch? more like just a dusty cartridge
- XenoSNK, on 03/09/2009, -1/+5Your princess is in a what castle?
- rmg7789, on 03/09/2009, -1/+5Why is the thumbnail from Smash Brothers?
- GuitarHeroDenn, on 03/09/2009, -0/+4"Well, there's Noah. He moves pretty fast for an old guy. The object's to get the animals in the ark. Holy *****! You just pick them up? Is that how Noah did it? He did it all by himself by picking the animals up and carrying them in the ark? Well, according to "Bible Adventures," that's how it happened. So there's where you drop those ***** off. You just bring them to the door, and let those bastards run in there. You get a checklist of all the animals you need, so it's pretty simple. Go find some more, bring them back. Fun, huh? I just can't get over that. He's an old man, and not only does he pick the animals up, he lifts them over his head! It doesn't even slow him down! How can such an old man be so strong? Have you ever tried to lift a horse? Not that easy. What the *****? Let alone a horse and an ox? Or, *****! A horse, a cow, and two oxen? What the ***** *****? Noah's so goddamn strong; he puts the Hulk to shame. The poor creatures are so scared *****, they don't even try to get away. Noah, man. Nobody ***** with him, not even Chuck Norris."
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3Catholics making Games.
- agentsrecord, on 03/09/2009, -1/+4Nintendo was awesome and the glitches only enhanced the experience!
- gfxgeek, on 03/09/2009, -0/+3The first Mario Bros video isnt a glitch. Thats where blowing in the cartridge was invented. Or putting it in with just a little bit hanging out and slamming it down to get it to work.
- FredFredrickson, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2I had more fun with debug in Sonic 2 / 3. Those games break easily, but it's fun as hell.
- Frozenpees, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2Wow! Thanks so much!! I wish I could Digg you up twice, or 3 times. I'm friending you.
- therodersabides, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Ugh, that was the first game I ever bought blindly (no rental, tried friends copy first). I was one sad little kid.
- RegalBegal, on 03/09/2009, -1/+3Sooo Glitchy.
- Dr.Neko, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Up, C, Down, C, Left C, Right, C, Hold A and Start.
- wordfan, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2I was expecting to see Rygar. In the final castle, you can jump off the edge of the castle onto the next screen where you will land on top of the castle walls.
- Pxtl, on 03/09/2009, -1/+3No Megaman 2? There were tons of awesome glitches you could do in that one.
- UselessTrivia, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2I was playing Back to the Future on NES once (a rental...it was a terrible, terrible game) and I couldn't get much past the first level or so. I got frustrated and went to take it out, but I guess I hit the reset button or something and it glitched, and took me to the final level where you drive the delorian. It lasted for about 10 seconds until I died, and then I couldn't repeat the level.
Wierdest glitch I ever encountered in a game. Never was able to repeat it. - tumoas, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2this is why you had to blow the dust from the cartridges
- boydrew, on 03/10/2009, -0/+2http://www.wisdomtreegames.com/arcade.html
I know this thread is pretty well dead but thought I would give you a link to relive your childhood... - sebey, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2what was the gitch?
- travistubbs, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2This is the second Top X List on Digg I've seen today (both of which were on the same page) in which all it showed was a picture or a clip from YouTube and a sentence composed of three, four words.
Please don't let this become a trend. - therodersabides, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Hmm, after re-reading that I should have typed "no rental, didn't try a friends copy first etc.."
- falstaff, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Article title: 10 weird glitches = random sampling of glitches.
Submission: 10 weirdest glitches = implies a thorough search for the best of the best.
Buried for inaccuracy. - jdames1980, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2The baby moses chick was tweaked out I swear, she would have these twitchy jumping spasm and before you know it you'd thrown your baby into the river. What other game lets you kill your baby in so many ways?
- jonglebeats, on 03/09/2009, -0/+2Ha I used to put Kleenex into the cartridge so see glitches... probably wasn't too good for it.
- Shweex, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1it never ceases to amaze me how not funny people can be sometimes, namely the Back to the Future and Area 52 parts
- jamspt, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1When I was growing up there was this one Nintendo glitch that I strongly remember...
Being too poor to own one. - Slayerdude51982, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1or some are just dumb like the back to the future one
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1The most hilarious glitch I ever saw was in one of the Ultima games. If you took a ship and brought it near Castle British you could use it to kill him. Once you did this the game went haywire. Graphics glitches galore ensued and my friend called it "Pandemonium at Castle British".
- amk29j, on 03/11/2009, -0/+1Buried because half of the videos had really annoying intros
- Discobiscuits, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1Seconded. The tag lines are also present in the lame BBQ I hosted this morning.
- phylum, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1those guys commenting on the nes glitch are two of the biggest geeks ive ever heard
- therodersabides, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1I always loved trying to do the rapid pausing while diving into the water in bubble mans stage.
- FFXIfrohike, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1Oh look, there's a "Bury" category for that!
- inactive, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1I remember when I was a kid, I was playing Double Dragon II with a friend of mine, and some glitch gave us infinite lives. Or, at least, they appeared to be infinite. The life counter didn't display numbers, but random symbols. The symbols would change whenever one of us died, but we never got a game over. We ended up actually beating the game thanks to the glitch. To this day, I have no idea what caused it though.
- reaper527, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1the only legit glitches there where the baseball one, the castlevania one, and the double dragon one. the other ones where either bad dumps being loaded into an emulator. for all we know, these could have been deliberately corrupted roms.
(speaking of corrupt roms, i had this weird dkc2 dump where you couldn't jump on the animal boxes. it would open up, you'd get the smoke scene, you would bounce off the box as normal, and the box would be as if you never touched it. the only way to open the box was hitting it with a barrel) - vivisimonvi, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1More disturbing than Back to the Future is Ring King
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKMKLPS_LmU - Frozenpees, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1Well, the game itself wasn't that bad, in fact, most 8-bit games that weren't made in 2 weeks were actually quite good, simply because gameplay was the only thing that could really set a game apart, not amazing graphics and whatnot.
But I would still have rather been playing Mario or Zelda like my buddies =( - arock99, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1what a ***** list.
you want game glitches you put something like world -1 in SMB...i'm sure there are other ones that were unexpected as well - Ersh777, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1I was expecting to see Rygar too. I've done that glitch as well as the top-down overworld glitch where you could get onto the grassy areas and explore the areas you were'nt supposed to go to. The best is where the grass would immediately transition to water on the next screen and instant death would ensue!
- KineticShampoo, on 03/09/2009, -0/+1Not NES but who can forget Missignio!? I shat my pants.
