Whether it is deemed as a note or a letter is unimportant...
Either way, the fact that it actually got back to his family after the fact is pretty neat. Nice of the family to donate it

It's not a letter as such. Its a scribbled note that has been well-preserved.

It's actually wrong to report this as a 'letter' because its more of a good bye note, isn't it?
