Good going, Leftist idiot. "My pals think this, so I think this too..."
Lets forget that there never was an indigenous population living on the island before the British took it over, or an Argentinian minority population on the island. If the Argentinians took over the Falklands today, there would be no one of Argentinian ancestry to repatriate; they'd be taking over British citizens for over 200 years.
It is true that the Falklands is "closest" to Argentina, but its THREE HUNDRED MILES AWAY. The rationale that the Falklands should be Argentinian because Argentina is closest to it would do wonders for the US claim over Cuba, which is only 90 miles away from the US.

Who cares what Sean Penn thinks about world politics? Am I missing something?
macparrotFeb 15, 2012
Idiotic douchebag actor says....?
salbatrossFeb 15, 2012
How many Argentines live there? How many ever lived there? "Colonialism" my ass.
jamboidFeb 15, 2012
I know that the UK isn't cool these days (and it certainly isn't exotic), but that doesn't make them the de facto bad guys.
Sean seems to be jumping on the hatred band wagon here.

More proof if it was needed that actors should probably stick to what they know best, self promotion and screwing other actors.
falcon642Feb 15, 2012
Does Mr. Penn believe in self-determination? That is the British argument, the people of the Falklands want to stay part of the UK by and OVERWHELMING margin. Never mind what they think though.....

It belongs to whoever put a flag there first.
Yes, I know what you are thinking and the answer is yes. The moon belongs to the United States.
norman619Feb 15, 2012
Good to see Sean Penn hasn't changed at all. He still backs the wrong side. The poster child for ignorant celebrity political activists.
nevertherFeb 16, 2012

liveencountersFeb 14, 2012Submitter
Good on ya Sean, tell 'em like it is. Tell them to get over their colonial hangover. Falklands for the Argies!
mrarpaFeb 14, 2012
Yeah, the Falklands have only been British for almost 200 years, not to mention the fact that the islanders want to remain under British control. Oh, and I almost forgot the illegal Argentinian invasion in the 80s that killed quite a few Brits. Oh yes, Argentina holds the high ground </sarcasm>
Your profile uses the quote - "The only real wisdom is knowing you know nothing." - and as far as the Falklands is concerned, in your case, that is completely accurate.
