So sad
emfkJun 18, 2011
I expect nothing less from Gaddafi.

Not good at all
bluenose2Jun 18, 2011
Anyone actually surprised by this?
beerhoundJun 18, 2011
No surprise at all. He has treated his people as if they were just as expendable as last week's leftovers for decades now. This is just the next progression for him.
ArlanHaakJun 19, 2011
I say the 'no surprise' refers to the whole Muslim concept anywhere and not just Ghadafi.

prejudiced hypocritical dick. stop! i'm not putting up with this.

NATO bombs innocent civilians in their homes all of the time, whats the difference?
Killing, murder in parks and mosques is the same. GOD sees a difference?
alanocuJun 18, 2011
The difference is that Gaddafi is raping and killing his own people, brotha. The difference is NATO is trying to prevent that. The difference is so obvious that it should hit you in face harder than a baseball at a Red Sox game.
kuzotzJun 18, 2011
by killing the people of Libya and a child that just so happen to have his grandpa as Gaddafi.. .... NATO whoever. killing is killing. This has gone on too long. When will we as a species learn to develop socially if we can do so technologically.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
natnatnat1231Jun 19, 2011
No alanocu, NATO is looking at it's own interests. NATO never enters a country to "help" the people, or to offer humanitarian aid. The difference between Gaddafi and NATO is zilch, and anyone who believes that NATO is the good guy here has a seriously disturbed pattern of thought. NATO is indiscriminately bombing everything in their path; whether they bomb a building full of children, or the so-called 'rebels,' they don't give a f**k. They're there for personal government interests, and that's it. Did you not learn anything from the Wikileaks recordings?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I always thought the purpose of NATO was to be an alliance of states that agreed to protect each other should the unlikely event of attack from an external party ever where to occur. Not regime change under the guise of humanitarianism.
Sorry but they've overstepped their boundaries on this one. In fact if they continue to go through with this one, they'll have to go around to every other country that treats its people like this as well. Not a precedent they should be setting imho.
Probably why you're beginning to see the entire alliance dissolve or at very least fracture quiet a bit from what it used to be. I mean we have what, 8 of the 28 member states contributing to Libya. 4 of those ready to drop out any day now as they don't have the money or equipment to contribute anymore, beyond the 90 days they initially agreed to in this not-war. That'll leave it all up to the US, France, England & Italy to finish the job (whatever that is).

mosque is a holy place to pray

...and prepare bombs to kill everyone who doesn't submit to their version of Allah.

NATO should know better than target mosques, children's parks or Roman ruins. Any military value of bombing targets inside or near them would be small coin compared to the PR defeat that they would cause.
wf80diditJun 18, 2011
Face it people. Gaddafi's not going to give up. They're going to have to send in ground troops to get him. It's going to be hard because I'm sure by now his troops (and tens of thousands of his diehard supporters) have ditched the military uniforms and are blending in with the population nicely by about now. My prediction... full-fledged ground war within 3 months and the place will look something similar to Iraq 5 years from now. Anybody wanna make a wager?
darkmatter911Jun 18, 2011
I will take that wager. I don't think anyone is willing to commit ground troops to this fight. NATO can't even continue to support the limited air war as it stands. There is not the money, material, or political will for the organization to send in ground troops. In the US the president may or may not want to send in ground troops but a divided congress will not support this.
The most likely outcome is going to be a divided Libya at least for now.
hasahugedigJun 19, 2011
the current president and past president has been s**tting all over the constitution that they made an oath to follow and protect. what makes you think he'll give a s**t on what congress supports?
wf80diditJun 19, 2011
Especially if he gets re-elected.

But, but, but ..... the rebels are Al Qaida--at least some of them. And Gaddafi has never liked Al Qaida. So, he should be our friend.
toxtekJun 20, 2011
Stupid justification of attacking Mosques.
googleGangStalkingJun 19, 2011
if you support the nato war on libya youre un-american garbage
