BEAUTIFUL!!!
The audacity of those governing.
Mean_Mister_MustardMar 23, 2011
STUNNING!!
The stupidity of people believing.
tomcmzMar 26, 2011
surely they are.
norman619Mar 23, 2011
Those governing only do so as long as the people allow it.
zzmeeyMar 23, 2011
Yea right! Governments do whatever they want (more or less). Even if you think that you can 'allow' something.
norman619Mar 23, 2011
Tell that to King George. Tell that to the former kings and queens of France. Sorry but when the people decide they want change things get ugly and power changes hand. Have you EVER set foot in a world history class?
touchy610Mar 23, 2011
That was back before people in general developed as large of a sense of apathy. Many people these days are just fine with things going along however, as long as they're still comfortable. The government could be taking their money, taking their property, monitoring their phones, getting rid of their jobs, etc. As long as they have basic necessities, very few people actually care about all those "other things".
theonewhoknowsMar 23, 2011
It's no apathy, it's about living the best life you can and raising your family, or about startgin a bloody revolution. Jeez, you make people who decide not to take arms up against their government as being lazy. What if they just don't want them or their family to die? Are they stil apethetic?
norman619Mar 23, 2011
touchy:
You do get that we humans are happy as long as our basic needs are met right? Once they aren't being met we become unruly. What you call "apathy" is being content. Things have to get REALLY bad for us to get riled up enough to take decisive action against our leaders.
zzmeeyMar 23, 2011
I always got A for History. And I know what you talking about. But also I have the eyes. All that had place in the past. When we never had as IT as we have now.
What people have doing when all gets bad - they come to the king with pitchforks and get him down. Now we can't. Now we listen radio, watching TV, reading inet and we've decide there's nothing gets bad, and we have a decoration of democracy, kind of we can allow or deny smth. But we don't, really. We can only allowed what tux president may wearing to next partyComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

yes because China has the computational power simultaneously monitor all mobile and land based telephones, scanning for individual words and then analyzing the context, resulting in termination of the call all in real time.
norman619Mar 23, 2011
I guess you haven't been keeping up.
skyislandMar 23, 2011
With regulation of internet on mobile devices in the hands of corporate power in the US that could happen to internet communication here in the US.. In fact the Bush administration pronounced the internet not communications but falling within the realm of some sort of service provided by internet providers who own it.. An information distribution mechanism at their fingertips to control as they see fit.. The Supreme fascist deciders have decided and since Supreme decisions hold the power of money as superior to the will of the people it makes perfect sense. Governments (are) instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed mentioned in the Declaration of Independence pertains to corporations now considered citizens by the Supreme deciders and so allowed to influence voting with their money.. They are financial after all, those corporations have it in their blood; it is corporate blood - the blood of the new citizen Supreme. O is that not the realm of Supreme deciders. Weren't they to decide pertaining to their interpretation of the Constitution not the founding document of the Declaration of Independence. Maybe those corporate were not to be the ones with those unalienable rights, things like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. China has made a bold step forward in corporate management skills which we in the United States must not let go unnoticed. If they can manage we can manage better and really get propaganda or advertising directing citizenship buying going in the right directions. I wonder if the heat retention increases of the atmosphere and loss of integrity of biologic systems maintaining conditions suitable for life will effect the new corporate world order of money for blood and decisions of the Supreme deciders in future. Perhaps Spiritual Supreme deciders should become machines not reliant on air to breath and other minor shortages that flesh and blood humans are likely to experience soon. Corporate religion of failed planets.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

What the hell are you (@skyisland) talking about?
(yes, I actually read and attempted to make some kind of sense of what you posted)
"I wonder if the heat retention increases of the atmosphere and loss of integrity of biologic systems maintaining conditions suitable for life will effect the new corporate world order of money for blood and decisions of the Supreme deciders in future."
- You ARE smoking something!
This sounds like something that was generated by a word-spewing algorithm.

I wonder if China is sniffing digg packets and responding with auto-generated posts like this....to quell the masses...lol
canpantherMar 23, 2011
At least in America, they only log the time, your IP address and phone number, then check its context and investigate it. ^^
theonewhoknowsMar 23, 2011
At least in america it is not illegal to own a phone and talk to it.
canpantherMar 23, 2011
It's not illegal to do either of those in China either.
But, just like when you use any type of communication device in America, you have to be careful of what you say and where/who you say it to or you will be getting a courtesy visit from some not-so-friendly government representatives.
billkatzzMar 23, 2011
China will soon use Newspeak
woktosserMar 23, 2011
Why do Digg staff members consistently post anti-China topics on the front page?
Not only are these news an exaggeration from the truth, but they rally an unhealthy mass sentiment among Americans toward China. You frequently mock Fox News, yet hypocritically practice their strategy of manipulating public opinion by promoting hate via misinformation.
Digg, you are better than that!Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

This is actually true. The article is based off of one guy. I would hardly consider this antidotal evidence conclusive of some highly advanced real time communication monitoring device being used by the Chinese.
woktosserMar 23, 2011
yes, the majority of Americans are intellectuals who base their opinions on concrete scientific evidence provided by the media... that's why 65% of them don't believe in evolution.
trythinking1stMar 23, 2011
I protest!

you linked the wrong video.
kesk2006Mar 23, 2011
Why would a Chinese person say "protest" on the phone? Isn't there a chinese version of the word?? /s
4Herp2Derp0Mar 23, 2011
æŠ—è° or 抗议
Just sound them out.
tbranch227Mar 23, 2011
We should do that in America when you say "um".
Jimenez1Mar 23, 2011

kuzotzMar 23, 2011
dude i was in shanghai airport last wk i should've tried it out.. Westerners usually have a habit of f**king with the censors simply because no one really takes it seriously... dunno atleast most of my African friends in China tend not to take them too serious.
ascusMar 23, 2011
Coming soon to Chinese, 100s of new code words for protest and other blocked words and phrases. The next L33T speak, but actually spoken this time.
paultripMar 23, 2011

WOW! China is going Crazy!
faithclubdotnetMar 23, 2011
That's child's play. Now if it listened to what you were saying, and then got your personal information, and someone comes to imprison you. Now that's playing with totalitarianism .
proprietarianismMar 23, 2011
I don't know how true this is... but I've heard it more than once... Your suggestion doesn't seem to be too far off the mark...

i wonder how long until s**t hits the fan in china
ieatskunkMar 23, 2011
Sounds like the act of a chickens**t government.
proprietarianismMar 23, 2011
Don't you know... All governments fear the people they oppress... :) Especially the super-oppressive ones.
ieatskunkMar 23, 2011
But are they oppressing because they are afraid of the people? Or afraid of the people because they are oppressing?
proprietarianismMar 23, 2011
I think it's the former, really... though it should be the latter in my humble opinion.
rudegarMar 23, 2011
cool kinda like a reverse Cap'n Crunch whistle
joncgordonMar 23, 2011
...and people think the US has strict censorship
neuro421Mar 23, 2011
It also seems like a decent way of getting out of a bad conversation.

Man: "Uh... PROTEST"

This should appeal to the "right-winger" GOP supporters. A list of some possible prohibited words for American phones: liberal, Obama, democracy, health-care, atheist, humanism, unions, arbitration, social security, civil rights, etc. (add your own.)

When our public library first installed internet filtering, it actually cut off a whole branch for someone going to Mapquest and entering "Girl's School Road. "
did the same thing a few days later, This might have been yahoo maps, when someone entered "Essex Junction VT!"
I once worked at a place that would let you access your personal Yahoo mail account, but HOT your hotmail account!!Even though my hotmail account is a legacy from my days on MSN dialup!
Completely Insane!!

well,i am a Chinese, living in China and i have just passed the Standard Chinese Pronunciation Test.Out of curiosity,i tried to call my friend and said so.But to my "disappointment",nothing happened and i was only to be replied"Are You Mad?".
Conclusion:(1)As a developing country, the technology of China has not yet reached such a high level.(2)There are some people in the west who are extremely capable of making up some striking stories to cater to some keen listeners.
