Well... No s**t.
agmlauncherFeb 29, 2012
TSA is just a jobs program and a politician's "see, I'm doing something!!!" brown-nosing/ass-covering project.
elliotysMar 1, 2012
The funny thing is that in my experience TSA employees have directly admitted to me that they don't really do anything. I actually appreciated their candor and humility when I asked one what "TSA" stood for, he replied "Thousands Standing Around". . . we both laughed...
craig1958Mar 1, 2012
Yup, it's mostly just theater.
claussenMar 1, 2012
Expensive theater.
johnnysoftwareMar 5, 2012
$15 bucks a seat
quadeMar 1, 2012
Abolish the TSA. Any presidential candidate (no matter what party) that promises that has my vote.
tmazzMar 1, 2012
That would be Ron Paul

quadeMar 1, 2012
Ron Paul just earned a special place in my heart. (not sarcasm)

Pretty much sums up my feelings about the TSA.
snafflepaffleMar 1, 2012
I was at the airport a few days ago. Going through security I refused the back scatter machine and instead opted for the 'enhanced' pat down. After waiting for 5 minutes (and holding up the line) the guy picks up my bags and escorts me to the pat down area. He asks if I have anything in my pockets and I say yes, my wallet. I take the wallet out of my pocket and put it in my bag. This means the wallet was never screened. This is a tiny security flaw, but it could be exploited. I'm sure there are many other ways to sneak stuff through and terrorists would find them if they wanted to.
Bah! Security theater. Worse than useless, it gives people a false sense of security.
tmazzMar 1, 2012
Agreed, there are some ridiculous security holes!!
Example:
TSA misses Adam Savage's (myth busters) multiple 12 inch razors!!!
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/practical-travel-safety-issues/1150669-tsa-fails-detect-mythbusters-two-12-inch-razorblades.html
mrmapleMar 1, 2012
They keep me from flying. God damn f**kers. It's just not the world I want to live in.
mtownMar 1, 2012
TSA is useless? YOU DON'T SAY!
Mark_LincolnMar 1, 2012
No s**t. TSA was created to fix a problem which didn't exist after 9/11. After then NO PILOT was going to open the c**kpit door to a hijacker.
The purpose of TSA is to make people 'feel' safer.
seanstuartMar 1, 2012
I for one have come to enjoy having my taint massaged by a strange man with firm but gentle hands. It helps me through the stress of traveling. Wait ... that's supposed to be a security measure?
ophelloMar 1, 2012
We don't need an expert to tell us this.
ano233Mar 1, 2012
We don't, but it might help to bring our "leaders" out of their willful blindness. Its easier for them to ignore us commoners, but ignoring an FBI special agent & part of the Joint Terrorism Task Force is a bit more problematic.
karmashockMar 1, 2012
They should have just copied the Israeli system from the start.
I know they don't want to for various political and logistic reasons but it's really either that or scrap the whole thing and go back to what we had before the TSA.
The TSA itself is a waste of time.
ddublu31Mar 1, 2012
You nailed it. Israeli system or nothing. It's outrageously cheaper and more effective. They are a real and true airport security force and they've been doing it a long time.
temlakosMar 1, 2012
You want better security screening than this? Contract with El Al to handle it. They have an excellent model for examining the person, not the things on the person. And they have the best people to carry their program out.
steve8867Mar 1, 2012
Deep down didn't we all already know they have no value?
Closed AccountMar 1, 2012
They have just as much pull as a mall flashlight cop, all they can do if they spot something is call the actual authorities to deal with it.
TSA is just one of several government programs that are redundant and useless, like Homeland.
drcrankMar 1, 2012
Spending more on fear than on growth. This is why America is stumbling.
mrken777Mar 1, 2012
I cant agree more..
alaskalonewolfMar 6, 2012
Pointless strip-search, FTW
BaltimoreNetworkingMar 1, 2012
Duh! Glad it's coming out though. TSA is obviously a step in making the USA into Nazi Germany.
alienmushroomMar 1, 2012
f**k Joe Lieberman!
ggiwebinfoMar 1, 2012
I can't agree with that.........
hhp2kMar 1, 2012
You also can't seem to tell us why.......... but you CAN use a ridiculous amount of periods............
slavruss2588Mar 1, 2012
TSA is a bunch of molesters and pedophiles! Down with the Terrorist Security Agency!!!!!!
gbreedMar 2, 2012
Everybody knows this but the government
alienmushroomMar 1, 2012
Calling them retards is a compliment.
rabbitsinblackMar 2, 2012
Replace them with monkeys
jcole14Mar 1, 2012
I totally agree, the TSA is a bunch of numbskulls. I mean, a knife is not allowed but a .45 is. What a bunch of crap. We should cut their spending by at least 65%. Al Qaeda will find new ways to outsmart them.. They are a bunch of dumb civilians and Al Qaeda will outsmart them 10/10 times.
kasha34Mar 1, 2012
We all know what would really work -- track Muslims. And girlfriends of Muslims.
Does that hurt anyone's feelings?
Sorry.
