Egypt needs elections. The UN should sponsor and implement free and fair elections within two months. Win, lose or draw for factions seeking power....the people must pick.
No they need to be left the f**k alone to handle this however the Egyptian people see fit. You can't force democracy on a people who either aren't ready for it or don't really want it.
Countries today somewhat don't have external forces to confront that need the presence of army.. What they do have are people within the nation who only respect power of military arms.
The little guy gets crushed somewhere in between adding little influence on things like armament purchases and international level arms deals that largely squander chances for change and betterment of the world.. Youth of rock throwers on one side and young soldier on the other under the umbrella and watchful gaze of an old-guard power enthusiast, good-old-boy system unable to grasp that it was bread prices and reliance on fossil fuels that largely got the world into the practically impossible economic mess it's in today where Nature isn't held as unimportant although mankind's very existence depends on it. Nature only superficially acknowledged as strategically important among nations.. Superficially yes but in reality no - but the time clock to make changes is ticking, ticking away louder with each click.. The situation needs free men and women able to defuse the situation and in my estimation it's time to give women a chance to make their voices heard.. We guys have had our chance and we messed up..
It's time to stop with the fireworks and dress codes and get on with the business of peace and of good governance.. A military perhaps to act as Sheriff in lands where inter ethnic tension is high but with checks on its power and a definite and continuous need to have oversight and only some people allowed to be members.. Little guys need protection from bullies and the justice system shouldn't be used to empower the entitlement of entrenched interests of those in power.. I think nations want for the most part to help nations and now with the Arab Spring a transition has happened where people realize they are part of a bigger world through the internet where free speech and good ideas can triumph or at least I hope so.

No they need to draft a constitution first. We can't have people in power draft the constitution themselves.
