Credit cards aren't that secure as it is, but something about this just doesn't sit right with me. So if my phone dies, I'm f**ked unless I have my wallet? Meh.
I have to keep my wallet on me for many reasons anyway (ID's for one). I find this unnecessary.

also, is anyone else a little concerned that an application/widget/whatever would be developed that would be designed to locate/steal your existing credit information which is on your phone (malware exists on the Android market, and yes it is of a different breed)? I kind of am since I have no idea how they intend to store this so it is "secure" but to me it just opens up another worry.

Short answer: what would I get from "near field" telephone that I don't already get from my credit card, except that when it's stolen, I don't have a way to call the bank to cancel it? Sorry, no. Bad Idea.
