You don't have to wait to get an invite for the US. Go to an online proxy that's located in Europe and then go to the spotify site and sign up. You can use the client on computers in the US. I signed up for the free version after first hearing about it. It's alright, nothing revolutionary. The one thing I really dislike is the 20 hour a month limit for the free version with ads. I was reading after 6 months your limit goes down to 2.5 hours a week. I'll stick with Pandora and downloading, much more convenient then just 2.5 hours a week.

Pay up! Almost anyone can afford to pay a few bucks a month for a excellent and legal music service. I've been using Spotify Premium for about two years now and I'm hooked. Accessing my playlists on every device I own is priceless.
Why transfer MP3 to my iPhone when I can just stream and save music (offline playlist) with Spotify?

Not a huge fan of the service. The UI seems cluttered, from just one day of trial it seems to sugest only mainstream music (probably haven't given the service enough time, however, it does have access to my itunes library). I'm not a fan, especially when I can torrent and stream music from last.fm or hypem.com without the annoying ads.
