I'm wondering if the OTHER reason for the "abuse of this service" isn't from the "poisoned links" and SEO manipulations of Google search routines.

I was shocked and awed (but not in a good way) when I read that google was shutting down its translate API. When I learned about the translate element that replaces it, however, I recognized it as a giant step forward. I hope webmasters everywhere embrace this.
