This awesome I want one
marciotFeb 12, 2011
Interesting idea, but before you lust over one, realize that this doesn't actually exist yet. Here are a few clues in the video:
1) They show the marker which appears to be a blue dot, but then he clips it on and runs to the side in such a way that the dot is no longer visible to the camera
2) Whenever they show the base pivoting, it's always slightly off-camera so that someone could be manipulating it.
3) The bottom of the base appears to just be a round bulge. There's no way it could develop traction to actually turn itself around.
4) They actually mention in the end that they have a "looks like" and a "works like" model, thus making it clear the video is not real.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Incorrect. The product does exist, just not in a marketable way. All of your "observations", with the exception of point 4, are useless.
Since at the end they explain they want our help, everything else is irrelevant.
Even if the product did not exist, we could still want one. But, the video clearly explains that it does, just not in a way that could be sold just yet.

Simple questions deserve simple answers:
Apple didn't build it yet, because no one built it before them yet.
Now that someone has, Apple will probably do one.
And take full credit.
With a little luck, rather than that little evil event occurring, maybe Brookstone or SkyMall will pick up on this guy and make them an offer.
oboyFeb 11, 2011
This is perfect for SkyMall!
jimfeetFeb 11, 2011
Oh yeah, I'd definitely buy some overpriced low quality Brookstone product in a mall over Apple's equally overpriced and clearly inferior junk. /sComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I have yet to read one of your posts which is not slobbering all over Android's knob or QQing about Apple.
I hope you find employment soon.
knightedibisFeb 11, 2011
Simple, yet elegant solution.
I especially liked the presentation and facetime application of the device.
weirddemonFeb 12, 2011
You'll need to watch the end of the video again. The solution isn't elegant yet. It's actually a huge blocky object. The main item we seen through out the video is just a concept.
They want our help to figure how to make it elegant.

Is this the beginning of the end for POV porn?
zigme007Feb 11, 2011
Amazing new gadget!
jonprophetFeb 11, 2011
Brilliant! What a great idea. They gotta make different mounts for different cameras, so it's not just mobile phone specific.
sleeplessFeb 11, 2011
THAT IS A SICK IDEA!!! Way to go!!! :-)
rattelerFeb 11, 2011
Let me know when it's for Android and I might splurge.
fragdementedFeb 11, 2011
Didn't you see the pictures in the video? You can use any camera for this thing. The base works independantly from the camera device. It is, therefore, very android compatible! Pretty darn cool!
weirddemonFeb 12, 2011
And... it's not finished yet. So ratteler couldn't "splurge" anyway.
fragdementedFeb 11, 2011
I'd buy one!
timmyjohnboyFeb 12, 2011
I'd buy one, too.
nababFeb 12, 2011
hellow
imnotmattritterFeb 12, 2011
I'd buy one and never actually use it.
rblancarteFeb 12, 2011
Forget the iPhone, what about for all cameras in general?
alienmushroomFeb 12, 2011
It's device independent. Why don't you take a look at the video?
rblancarteFeb 12, 2011
Oh my bad, I just read the article & saw the picture. Yeah, I see they have adapters for other devices.
alienmushroomFeb 12, 2011
The name sucks.
weirddemonFeb 12, 2011
Your name sucks.
cawpinFeb 12, 2011
This is VERY cool. Hopefully they actually make them.
aclintonFeb 12, 2011
Awesome.

In case anyone else is curious (I was!), the song featured in that video is called "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap.
