iPhone games is mostly a one hit business, look at Angry Birds. You need 1 big hit to propel your game development company forward.

unless you want to be a Pop Cap of course.
the app markets mean anyone can make as much money as they want and all they have to do is learn to code.

Apple may have the most, but my god there are a s**t TON of duplicates and many that just suck. That number is inflated so much because of this too.

oh and that's not the same for other markets? theres more illegal ringtone apps on android market than you can count. in fact, apple doesnt even allow duplicates, apps have to have different features to be allowed. just because theres a conception of a million flashlight apps, all the flashlight apps are different. as im sure there a bunch of android flashlight apps as well.

The volume of apps isn't surprising... if most apps are just to mobile-fy a website, then there tend to be as many apps as websites. As much as I'd like to use a browser for everything, an app tends to be better.
It'd be nice to make the distinction between website apps and actual processing-type apps, and not call the former 'apps' at all.

Wow--more infographic spam, this time from onlinemba (dot) com. Props to the affiliate marketer whose site that is, but this is getting f**king ridiculous.
What's the going rate for getting an infographic with backlink on these blogs and then getting it promoted to Digg's FP?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
