all hail hypnoSteve!
dreamtigerDec 25, 2010
From the Financial Times article which this article quotes: "Steve's the last of the great builders," says Roger McNamee, a Silicon Valley financier who led a recent, failed attempt to rebuild Palm in Apple's image. "What makes him different is that he's creating jobs and economic activity out of thin air while just about every other CEO in America is working out ways to cut costs and lay people off."
Bravo Steve! Way to go! Thank you for your relentless creativity and commitment to excellence. And thanks for the AAPL;)

while naming an individual a person of the year. makes no difference to his aptitudesa dn abilities of far sighted view and thinking capabilities. he has been on the top of bright innovative thinking as he has a view of seeing things froma different out of the box point of view.
he hss managed being into his industry even after being kicked out of it by his own compahy.
it just goes out to point and focus on the man's inate ability to do what he want to rather than doing what he is fored to.
it is an understanding that has been reiterrated by the aura of thsi man that one should be clear about what he wants and make other believe the same rather han it being teh other way around. case if its not the case tehn you will be like an asteroid in space who is moving around without any clear direction or aim.
I salute to his self belief, his ambition and his ability to speak hi mind and make others beliee exactly what he wants them to.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

iPods didn't change the world but Steve jobs could with NASA.
BUY NASA STEVE!!!!!
bluekneemarketDec 24, 2010
Jobs' great knack is making technology elegant, effortless and sexy, as opposed to it being a frustrating, perplexing and complex.
neosporinDec 24, 2010
so Steve Job's is to technology what Michael Bay is to film
wilhoitmDec 25, 2010
Michael Bay is not all that. His movies are still like 2 hour music videos.
enantiodromiaDec 25, 2010
More like Kubrick.
robbh66Dec 25, 2010
Really? Because Michael Bay is known for not having coherent plots and adding in a bunch of over-the-top extra s**t just for the sake of having it- whereas Apple is known for having a clear vision not adding in s**t just for the sake of having it.
Good try though.
neosporinDec 25, 2010
People still have a hard time deciphering sarcasm, it seems.
farcry15Dec 24, 2010
plus, he added another camera to this quarter's model of the ipad. i don't know how i ever lived without it!
enantiodromiaDec 25, 2010
yeah, how dare Apple ever change their products over time. things should always be the same forever.
mrcanardDec 24, 2010
Big Deal?
I was rooting for Julian Assange!
dreamtigerDec 25, 2010
I voted for Mr. Assange in Time Magazine's poll. Perhaps Financial Times has a different perspective, slanted toward business?

chris63084Dec 24, 2010
stupid.
boner79Dec 25, 2010
better than Zuck f**kerberg
mitsubishiDec 25, 2010
Whether you like him or hate him, how in the Hell was Julian Assange NOT the winner of Person of the Year?
dirtyfriesDec 25, 2010
This douchebag has STILL suspended charitable donations at Apple.
f**k his 'Person of the Year' status.
stealthspcDec 25, 2010
They suspended charitable donations through iPhone apps (presumably) because malicious developers would use these tools to trick users in to giving up money (pissing users off). Just because you don't understand good UX design doesn't make him a douche bag.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
dirtyfriesDec 25, 2010
I'm referring to Steve removing philanthropic donations from Apple as a corporation after regaining control in 1997, despite record breaking profits in recent years. It has never been reinstated.
Reference: http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/02/news/companies/elkind_jobs.fortune/index4.htm
Just because you don't know jack s**t about references doesn't make him any less of a douchebag. Just sort of makes you one too.
bluenoseboyDec 26, 2010
Well put.
Not to mention the fact that while almost every other technology mogul is giving away the majority of their fortunes to charity (Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, etc), Jobs gives diddly-squat. He even shut-down the "Stephen P. Jobs Foundation"!
The fact that he considers himself both a Buddhist and once a hippie, makes it even more pathetic.
It has often been said that his greatest talent is his understanding of "human desire". That makes sense, because he's about as greedy and self-centered as people come!
I loved the Apple II and the original Macintosh, but I will give-up computing before I give a single penny more to that jerk.
psypher1Dec 25, 2010
f**k that whiner self gloried asswhack. Bill Gates is your pimp bitch!!!
bluenoseboyDec 26, 2010
Don't they mean "narcissist douchebag" of the year?
