I tried to figure out how many peeps I know rocking Galaxy S phones. Nine.
When I get my son one to replace his iPhone 3G, it'll be ten.
No doubt Samsung is on the right track here to make a splash in the smartphone market just like they planned.

samsung has nothing to do with it, it's the android operating system and the power of the phone

Well no... samsung released a single handset to multiple carriers, that is the reason, if they did what everyone else does and released their android phone to one carrier, there would be no way to make those numbers. So as much as I love my Captivate and Android... its the sum of the sales combined due to the scatter shot approach of samsung that has benefitted them the most.

Maybe it's time to retire the old Razer.

The Galaxy S is the phone for me right now, just awesome.

Just got mine and one for the wife this week. Coming from a G1, I was a bit concerned about using the onscreen keyboard as opposed to that awesome full size QWERTY keyboard on the G1. So far, I'm blown away at how much I love this phone. It's running limited HSPA+ on T-mobile, which is supposed to be around 6 mbps and it's blazing fast. Installed Skyfire to use instead of the stock browser and it handles Digg like a pro--nothing else does. And to top it all off, Froyo is supposed to drop for all Galaxy phone next week on the 23rd. There's been a lot of posers claiming to be iPhone killers, this might be the one that finally meets the challenge.

It won't kill the iphone, as the iphone is a niche product that has a customer base as loyal as they come, and sometimes to a fault. In the case of the Galaxy S... it will be one of the best android phones around for about 6 months, then the 1.2 dual core phones will be plowing all our phones out of the way, and 6 months from there the 1.5 dual cores, and so on until we have almost caught up to average laptop speeds on our phones, and all run 4.0 android or something rediculous.

Anyone having GPS issues with it? Looking to grab the Epic in a week.

In Korea right now, there are literally lines all day and night for this thing
It's a point of national pride, so it's great that they are getting exposed to Android OS
Seriously though, there are kiosks in stores dedicated just to selling this phone right now
I was at the bus stop last night and more than half of the people waiting had a brand new Galaxy S
