theus2Sep 8, 2010
People dont comment anymore because the discussion isn't fun anymore due to all of the anti-digg comments.
robbh66Sep 8, 2010
Yes. People don't comment anymore because discussion wasn't fun anymore because of all the anti-digg comments.
...Or people left because digg sucks now- as shown from all the anti-digg comments.
ginnipigSep 7, 2010
Same(working).... maybe check your spelling Techi
rocko_stazettiSep 7, 2010
The Pirates still be kicking arrr...
They be an important example of f**kin' the man over!
daridaveSep 7, 2010
Indeed.
'tis so stupid that they keep trying. Wait, wait wait... let me go buy a music CD tonight just so they think this is actually going to change something.
pffhahaha... can't believe this is still happening and it's almost 2011.
markcicconeSep 7, 2010
I have been a Digg user for five years and a reader for longer. Any Pirate Bay take down stories would generate 1000s of comments. This place feels like a ghost town...what happened to my Digg??
thejokkerSep 7, 2010
the comment system has been crashing a lot today. I came to digg two min ago and there were no stories in the top news section. The site is just crumbling apart from the inside.
It's the same type stuff you notice with all those double posts.
blackinthmiddleSep 7, 2010
Kevin Rose decided to take it back from the users who made his site famous and give it to large news outlets. Hopefully for his sake he got a boat load of cash. Seriously, I've never seen more front page stories with less than 50 diggs and 10 comments than after this re-launch.
davidg11Sep 7, 2010
I think new digg is going to be a great retirement home site for myself. So quiet. Peaceful. Kind of like elevator music.
commongroundSep 7, 2010
wow, it really is quiet round these parts now
I really miss digg, RIP old friend
dizavinSep 8, 2010
can you prove that he's received any money? I don't think he has, personally.
philbertSep 7, 2010
The Digg4 hate comments drove everyone away.
diggsmckenzieSep 8, 2010
No, I'm pretty sure Digg4 drove everyone away.
pottermaniacSep 8, 2010
both
philbertSep 8, 2010
Digg4 isn't as nice as before but it's no so bad that I'd leave.
fuzzynyankoSep 7, 2010
Lots of people left when v4 debuted
stilesjaSep 8, 2010
The sky is blue
bravestdawgSep 7, 2010
the combination of Digg 4, and the fact that this is about the 20th story about the pirate bay being brought down/sold or whatever when it's already back up probably makes it a bit less popular than some previous ones.......people dont get the idea that TPB doesn't go down that easily.
mrkplayerSep 7, 2010
Everyone left, except the spammers (Kevin Rose et al.)
crossmrSep 8, 2010
What's happened is Digg is now s**t, Kevin is in denial and the fanboys are lining up to lick his assh**e.
nickedynickSep 8, 2010

smackertSep 8, 2010
The comments dont feel like home to me anymore. it feels cold and awkward. I miss the old Digg :(
shadowklownSep 7, 2010
Working fine for me. Digg on the otherhand is a POS. I had to refresh the page 12 times before the comments would load.
qwertywatcherSep 7, 2010
Pirate Bay is up and running just fine.
Going after Pirates is as effective as going after pot smokers.
Its expensive and futile.
emjayseaSep 7, 2010
There have been some obvious effects on the Pirate Bay since its legal troubles began, the most obvious is the presence of unscrupulous advertisers. I have had my antivirus sweet alert me several times since then, and just this past Labor Day weekend Google Chrome warned me not to go to a PB.org page hosting the results of my Pirate Bay search. I indicated I wanted to continue anyway and then Kaspersky went off warning of malware from an advertiser (denied). That s**t never happened to me in my years before that. There's also some content capitulation going on. For instance, for some reason you couldn't find Glee episodes, and now True Blood, even though other torrent sites find them readily. What we need is the Pirate Bay replacement (just like the Pirate Bay was replacement to SuprNova.org).Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
doodlesmcpoohSep 7, 2010
Glee episodes?
srsly...
emjayseaSep 7, 2010
Tell my wife about it. Srsly...
peschelnetSep 7, 2010
FYI...suite not sweet.
Suite is a number of things forming a series or set and Sweet is having the taste or flavor characteristic of sugar, honey, etc.
emjayseaSep 8, 2010
Yeah, it was a mistake--I have a master's in eng. lang. and lit, thanks.
emjayseaSep 13, 2010
No, really, the place is a pale shade of its former self. If you think otherwise, you're only recently a patron.
grahamcrackerSep 7, 2010
The homepage loads for me, but I can't get it to search or even browse the top torrents.
versualizeSep 8, 2010
Are you talking about Digg?
canadia86Sep 7, 2010
Yay! Anti-pirating propaganda! Way to know your core audience, v4!
rushdoSep 8, 2010
Yeah they haven't had an article like this since... when Mininova went legit less than a year ago. Articles like this were on old digg often :/
punchcardzSep 7, 2010
Good luck to the authorities. Not because I hope/think they are going to pull it off, but because they just try so hard. It's like something out of Lupin the 3rd.
wondertwinsSep 7, 2010
I f**king love Lupin the 3rd.
karlvizmatikSep 7, 2010
PB's site is working just fine. Now, where the f**k is my bury button!?
torisutanSep 7, 2010
hover your cursor over a story. see the little "x" that pops up on the right? click it.
There. You've buried the story. Now stop posting off topic.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
thejokkerSep 8, 2010
bury was a tool to help the community edit the stories off the front page. The "x" tool just removes it from your page. It does nothing to create a community of social editors.
aarontexSep 8, 2010
I like how this guy got burred. lol
nstern2Sep 8, 2010
Or if you really want to bury it you can click the little X report button on this page. it does the same thing as bury it just does not give you the option to choose why.
I do agree they should rename it to bury though.
intuitionx2Sep 7, 2010
The Pirate Bay has secret big pocket supporters. It is unlikely that it will ever go down. I would be surprised if they did not know a few weeks ago that a raid was coming.
torisutanSep 7, 2010
TPB can never be sunk. The MPAA, RIAA, and whoever else is behind this just brought down the s**t-storm of the century on their heads through these actions. The Warez hydra will never be destroyed, and the community of hackers and crackers that make it up will surely retaliate by DDoS-ing every website that generates revenue for the corporations that called this in.
They will never learn, it is a different world now. Information should be free and available. Ad-supported software, music, and movies are the way of the future, and there are still even more ways to make money without pissing off users. The industries must be taught a lesson, that we will not sit here and be forced to pay $50 for a single game, or $25 for a movie, or $60 for a season of a show, or even $15 for a CD that the artist gets $3 from. No, we will pay for REAL products and services, things that could not be had for free no matter how intelligent or skilled we are. Xbox LIVE, NetFlix, Concerts, DVD's and Blu-Rays with features that can't be simply copied, etc.
This is the beginning of a new era, and they're refusing to move forward. We can't be held back by them, it's time to crush them and move on.
Closed AccountSep 7, 2010
You are delusional.
elmuerte17Sep 8, 2010
True story. If you like a band, go to their shows or buy their merch... they're lucky to see half a dollar from every album sale.
spincity07Sep 8, 2010
f**k Ya.
stariboxSep 7, 2010
HACK THE PLANET!!!!
YeriaSep 7, 2010
If content creators spent half the effort and money they spend on tracking down pirates on content creating, we probably won't need any piracy in the end.
Closed AccountSep 7, 2010
So...what you are saying is the content is SO bad that you have to take it for free?
How f**king sad IS your life that you still feel the need to watch/listen to crap?
Seriousky...even the most pathetic of people have given up the "I only pirate because it is crap" excuse because they realized it made them look like f**king idiots. Oh...and GOOD movies/music get pirated just as much as bad stuff...so your idiotic statement doesn't even hold a shred of truth.
letherialSep 7, 2010
I pirate because its cheap, if a game is worthy of 50.00 then i might buy it, if not, then i guess they should of done better. I personally don't give a rats ass about the majority of the companys making these games, they got the cooperate attitude; stock holders first, CEO second, customers third and standard employees last.
Well f**k them, its not a world i want to live in.
Stardock is a company i will generally buy from, i say this because they dont have that kind of mentality, however, i recently downloaded a game from them that is so buggy (but fun) that if i did pay the money they want id be shoving it back up there ass.
If you dont want to pirate, dont pirate, but also dont pretend you understand "how sad" someones life is simply because you dont agree with them.
opticwindSep 8, 2010
I agree he was out of line, but you're doing no favors to those standard employees by pirating because a game doesn't meet your standards. They're the first to go when sales go down.
crossmrSep 8, 2010
It might not be crap, but it might also not be worth the money. Something can be reasonable but not worth the price of admission.
dizavinSep 8, 2010
yes.
if the content out there was priced realistically, you'd have people who would pirate less. 80 dollars for a damn video game? you gotta be kidding me.
brandozillaSep 7, 2010
Its up, and it will never die!
nullcodesSep 7, 2010
Long live the pirate bay!
f**k the Software Publisher's Association. Oh, yeah and dammit f**k the RIAA!!
qazwsSep 7, 2010
We need Pirate Bay 2
dr3wSep 7, 2010
But not Pirate Bay V4
LemurLordSep 7, 2010
So how can TPB be up after police raiding multiple proxies of theirs, yet Digg can't be up every 3 in 5 page refreshes?
crossmrSep 8, 2010
Because one of those sites is run by someone who cares about it more than they would care about a diseased whore they'd found in a ditch.
natekronSep 7, 2010
It's up again and ye'll ne'er take it down, ye Lily livered scurvy dogs!
covvSep 7, 2010
Looks down to me, can't access the homepage, all the torrents I am seeding can't connect to the tracker either. I give it a day, two at max, before they are back up.
natekronSep 7, 2010
It opens intermittently for me, enough to find and download a torrent. They must be using a CDN or something that keeps the data up even after the main servers are down.
pulse768Sep 8, 2010
As of 8:05 pm EST, it's up and running for me.
mrgreen371Sep 7, 2010
I think they raided Digg servers and not pirate bay.
mcganz121Sep 7, 2010
Pirate bay seems to be off and online quite a bit
ghostalkerSep 7, 2010
Pity they can't take down Digg's server and revert it back to the old version.
badbillySep 7, 2010
its down for me in the midwest USA
evildeadashSep 8, 2010
I'm Commander Shepard and Digg used to be my favorite site on the internets.

Guys, we all hate the new Digg. Just search for "Digg V4 sucks" and digg up everything you see. Make our voice heard!
wondertwinsSep 8, 2010
I think digg goes down more than TPB
the4thaggieSep 8, 2010
It's funny. Even after being raided in multiple countries, facing lawsuits and jailtime, and other things, the PirateBay has a better uptime and less broken axels than Digg V4.
FrankieDUBSep 8, 2010
Trying to fight this kind of thing reminds me of the war on drugs here in the US... so many resources spent fighting it, while the problem inevitably gets bigger.
norman619Sep 8, 2010
As long as the studios and such continue to ask too much for their content there will be people out there willing to sell it much cheaper w/o their consent. I also wish they'd stop calling files sharers pirates. Pirates SELL bootleg copies for profit they don't give s**t away.
jjustin01Sep 8, 2010
No one can take down the Gibson, man!
hippielettuceSep 8, 2010
I love Pirate Bay.
wiggs274Sep 8, 2010
Cant stop the signal.
dilton7Sep 8, 2010
The pirate bay is actually a submarine disguised as a ship ...if u see what i mean :)
polartxSep 8, 2010
good riddance, Pirate bay had about as many viruses as an actual 17th century port had stds
trauphSep 8, 2010
Maybe if all you're downloading is porn. I've been using it for years and have yet to find a virus. I usually only download music and software though. As long as you read the comments you'll usually find out if it's safe.
Just sayin... don't hate my my bay! :)
thahmzSep 8, 2010
One cannot simply sink an entire bay...
mixeaoSep 8, 2010
with pirates
efx200Sep 8, 2010
such a pity, the new didd is a s good as crap
tao52nycSep 8, 2010
Someone at Digg (*cough* kevin rose *cough*) decided he just HAD to fix something that wasn't broken.
Now it's broken. Just sad.
thejokkerSep 8, 2010
actually if you watch the last diggnation episode, Kevin said digg was broken. They started removing features from v3 to keep it a stable platform.
scotty87Sep 8, 2010
Hey Kevin
evan521Sep 8, 2010
digg is partnering with the riaa to direct mass traffic to shut the site down.
waqanezzerSep 8, 2010
I hope The Pirate Bay reincarnates.
johnagainSep 8, 2010
Digg V4 Sucks.
Where's the friggin Thumbs Down?
