I hurried up and submitted this as soon as I saw it, more or less as an experiment to see if an independent account can "top news" something when it's as important as an update about digg's leadership.

What the f**k is up with the comments now? They don't even take up 1/4 of my screen. Kevin Rose or no Kevin Rose, Digg is f**ked.

Yeah but he still has his paws all over the place, the new guy is being set up to fail.
oboyAug 31, 2010
I hope you're wrong, Mu. You're probably not.

The optimist in me says things could shape up in the near future here and Digg's new CEO might not have to suffer a baptism by fire. But, the realist in me says Matt Williams won't last very long. Kevin is picking a hell of a time to bring in Digg's new CEO; he should have done the right thing and maintained his position until the new Digg stabilizes. Matt will be taking the heat while Kevin will cruise as Digg's new "Chief Architect".

Seems to me that when a s**tty house collapses because of poor design, the first person to blame would be the "Chief Architect."

True.

Yeah I want to believe you're wrong too Mu... but the timing... main it's hard not to agree with you.

Well, a new CEO is fine and dandy, but I'll be happier if Digg can actually get the site both stabilized and functional. Who's at the top isn't really a consideration if the site itself isn't functional.
The real shame is that we were told the algo diversity problem was "fixed" today, but the front page tells a much different story.

"Sinking ship has a new captain."
davincihAug 31, 2010
The timing of this is... not good. Rats leaving the sinking ship.
They should have waited till the site was stabalized if that's not what this is.
This sends a really, really horrible message doing it right now. Really horrible.

digg blog gets autosubmit treatment
davincihSep 1, 2010
So can we consider the fact this hasn't FP'd absolute proof that digg does not in fact treat regular diggers and corporate publishers the same?
Because there are garbage stories hitting the front page with 20 diggs.
This has 60 and it's a relevant story actually ABOUT digg FROM digg.
I mean if this isn't going to FP then nothing will.
Depressing. I really do want to like the new digg, come on guys! Hopefully this is just a bug they're working on still.
