I totally forgot about such a feature!...
ccannon2Sep 28, 2010
This was the first I'd heard about a feature but can definitely see where it would be useful.. Time to check out the alternatives..
Sometimes I wonder how many other features Google has that I don't know about..

i love this feature. it's great to track job postings that don't have rss feeds built into them... i'm going to miss it :'(
ozkrSep 30, 2010
that's the exact same thing I was using it for!I even thought I would see new job postings today when I saw the unread count but it's too bad the only thing there was this bad news :(

Damn. And I only converted from WatchThatPage a month or two ago because I thought it would be nicer to get my results through RSS using Google's service.

Color me disappointed. I've been using that feature for some time for a couple sites w/o RSS feeds.

It would have nice if Google at least explained why they were making the changes. This is a very valuable feature to me and one that I've been using since the launch. It's too bad that they are taking away technology from their customers without at least explaining the rationale.

Agreed. I think loyal users deserve such a rationale.

This was a very helpful feature in staying up to date with websites without native RSS feeds. Google, please bring it back, or as davisfreeberg said, at least give us an explanation because this came out of the blue and with such short notice.
Google wants everyone to use their services but if they pull the plug on them just like that without at least proper explanation, how can they expect us to rely on their other services - which is what the Google business model is, they offer lots of value-added free services which in turn give Adsense more real-estate

Can't believe they're getting rid of this I use it all the time! I don't understand why it's necessary to get rid of it?
leninrOct 5, 2010
This is what I dont like with Google. When we start liking a sevice so much, they'll just stop it.

I keep using this feauture ...it is really useful...
U ppl cn find an alternative to solve the problem...like U can giv a lil bit publicizing so tht ppl vl know abt this feature....
lkamalOct 15, 2010
While this is one of the widely used feature; why Google is turning it off? Any reason???
danieljslavinOct 19, 2010
I meant to comment when this first happened... This is the worst news I've gotten from google. I switched all my feeds over after the fact, and page2rss does not work like google's did. There were no problems with googles, now I get false updates all the time from nearly all the sites.
Bad move, google.

This is the only reason why I used Google Reader. It was *perfect* for job hunts - I tracked 20 companies' employment page for changes. Itsaved me so much time. So much for google reader for me now. Any recos on another tracking sites for job hunting?
