It's only Windows that these trojans infect. Just use a Live Linux CD (or USB) when you do banking online. Easy as pie.

Sounds like incognito mode with no plugins is a good idea for banking. I wonder how good a sandbox is from keeping the functions offered by an insecure OS out of the sandbox.
In the end, the weakest link is the OS providing the access but then again who wants something total security like a revocable and signed repository of apps denied access to anything but itself.

Yes, incognito would be a good option; while having a good and fully updated anti-virus software on board, with the system firewall on. Of course, to develop a sop for handling email attachments would make it even better as far as safety is concerned.
