Motorola droid x is so cool
dirtyfriesNov 8, 2010
Agreed. Recently dumped my 3Gs because my job was willing to pay for a Verizon phone. Went with the Droid X. It's an incredible phone.
digitalmotoNov 8, 2010
Yup, Android is getting itself out there without even trying!
caseybutt143Nov 8, 2010
Season "How i met your mother" is my favourite.... Ted Mosbey exposing Motrola Droid X shows that Android is taking over the market of smartphones
noman_ali280Nov 8, 2010

Smart to reveal new products on hit shows... subtle yet effective

I have a friend which owned the Droid X since day 1. It is superior to the iPhone in every way, except for the display on the iPhone 4. It has features that Steve would never allow, each update isn't some "security patch", rather, each update IS ACTUALLY ADDING NEW FEATURES.
I dropped my iPhone 3Gs for a Sony Xperia...and that was a major improvement. (I know people are bitching about how slow Sony is about their updates...take it as a blessing, that things aren't changing as frequently.) And so what if I don't have 250,000 apps, that's what I have an iPod Touch for.
Oh, and once rooted, and unlocked...IT STAYS UNLOCKED.
Once the Droid X has a GSM equivalent, I will be getting one. (I heard rumors of a Milestone X )
dirtyfriesNov 8, 2010
Totally agree.
What I like about it since having switched is I don't feel the need to root it. Unlike my iPhone...so few things feel restricted. With the iPhone it was a no-brainer to jailbreak; with the Droid it seems almost like an afterthought.

"I have a friend which owned the Droid X since day 1. It is superior to the iPhone in every way"
I Disagree. I have a Droid X and still find the iPhone interface easier and more intuitive. The Droid X is a wonderful piece of hardware and the integration of googles services is amazing, but for your "average user" the iPhone interface simply is a better fit.
On a side note: Why the hell isn't the HDMI port supported in anything but the Default Gallery? If I wanna kick 'Angry Birds' up on the big screen why can't I?
PS - The app "Real HDMI" doesn't work on Froyo.

Once you get used to the Android interface it feels just as intuitive as the iPhone...just with more user control. The iPhone is only superior if you are completely afraid to get your hands dirty, since most Android platforms may be easy to use, but they also have more things you can tweak under the hood. (Without having to "root" the device. With the iPhone, if you want more power over your device, you need to jailbreak it...and even at that, it doesn't give you even half the power of an un-rooted Android device.)
The only major advantage that the iPhone really has is that it has a large app library. Though I find the 250,000 apps claim to be a bit exaggerated, as there is a lot of duplicate apps and there is a fart-app for just about every occasion. Personally, I think apple should start rejecting any new fart apps...as I think they have covered just about every type imaginable, and start approving apps that really give the iPhone some real functionality. VLC was a nice start...but it shouldn't be the last, I want a full replacement for the iPod, and Safari before they can even claim to have a better OS than Android....if I don't like Android's browser, I can always replace it...not with just a new theme with the same underlaying engine. If I want to play different audio formats natively, I can download apps that act as the primary audio player instead of the default.
Oh, PS can your iPhone browse the web and download things that it can't open, so that you can transfer them to your computer at home? How about browsing a website that has media files, can you download and add directly to your library?

This is on the front page of Digg? if this isn't a sign that Digg is dead, then what is? So sad. Instead of drinking beer on his Podcasts, Kevin should have paid attention to the changing landscape of crowdsourced news. RIP Digg

I heart "How I Met Your Mother"!! Best show ever.

I like my Nexus One, and I generally like HIMYM (though the past two seasons haven't been very good), and I still think this article blows. I hope the author was an ESL, because that would be the only way to excuse the odd phraseology and grammar.

That's marketing without knowing it. I love the movie "How I Met Your Mother"
