This will cause a lot of arguments between fanboys...I like it.
badqatSep 12, 2010
Nah. It's rather silly. Any fanboy who gets riled up by stupid s**t like this is, well, stupid.
dylsonSep 13, 2010
Fanboys tend to be stupid in times like these
rpgmakrSep 13, 2010
There's a 'stupid' in 'fanboy'.

don't know if it's the death of the iPhone, but anything's gotta be better than Windows Mobile 6.
cawpinSep 12, 2010
My Windows Mobile 6 phone was just fine. I've since happily switched to Android but there wasn't anything wrong with WM6.
PaulTheBookGuySep 13, 2010
Nothing wrong with my old Motorola Brick, or my Palm pilot...but I'll take my iPhone over them any day.
hipmanSep 13, 2010
Wow your Iphone is better than decades old technology.I am so impressed.
PaulTheBookGuySep 16, 2010
hipman, in case you missed it I was being sarcastic regarding cawpin's comment that his 3 year old Mobile 6 phone was "just fine" but that he has happily switched to Android.
Does everyone on Digg really need a /sarcasm or <sarcasm> </sarcasm> tag to understand? If so then I will gladly tag everything from now on.

are you kidding me? where to start...no native sync with Windows without buying Outlook, crashes at least once a week, constant issues with things like texting screens, Windows Media Player doesn't save your spot in a song when you get a phone call...i could go on, but i think i've made my point. working with Windows Mobile 6 with a Windows machine is what finally drove me to Ubuntu...Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

This is some lame crap, typical of what gets thought up by pricks committee in a board room after market studies and consulting with various "experts" in PR and marketing .. all of whom wear suits and are concerned with financials. Its unnatural.
teena_wabeSep 13, 2010
This is silly..or should I say hilarious.. lol!
johnilmSep 13, 2010
Even if Windows Mobile 7 phones totally suck, I'd rather have the option to not choose a WM7 phone than to only be able to choose an iPhone.
PaulTheBookGuySep 13, 2010
True. Im surprised nobody has straight out copied the iPhone's easy to use UI. They always come out and say "iPhone killer...this is a way better way to use a cel phone." or "Its just like the iPhone EXCEPT..." why don't they wake up and see what works and do something identical if not similar enough that iPhone and iPod users might just be interested?
andyroo316Sep 13, 2010
To be fair, Android IS pretty much an iPhone clone. As in, if you don't use widgets, you have a grid of 4x4 icons on each screen, which is swipeable to the next screen.
If you think about it, that's all the actual iPhone OS really is to laypeople.
pentiumiiSep 13, 2010
yeah and if you realy think about it my old plam piot had the same set up
it icon in grid nothing that hasn't been done before
the first ever smart phone was a touch screen phone that dispaly all it apps the same way the iphone does and that was over 20years ago
andyroo316Sep 14, 2010
Maybe I should have been clearer - the whole 'touch' thing interacting WITH the icons is what I was going for. The iPhone WAS the first to do this, and Android effectively copied the basis of the GUI.
I'm not saying the whole idea of a "small computer with a streamlined icons interface" was new, just that Android is strikingly similar to iOS, to the point where if the iPhone allowed non-curved-square icons, you wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference.
I'm no Apple fanboy saying they do everything first - I have an Android phone myself - I'm just telling it like I see it.

Not really a good representation of trying to be the next cool thing — a funeral procession (ho-hum) and a line dance of a song made famous years before Apple's 1984 ad.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
nedbigbyssgSep 13, 2010
Yeah, just like how the Zune took down the iPod... o.O

At least its funnier than those windows 7 commercials.
sputnikvSep 13, 2010
this is stupid and embarrassing
storyguardSep 13, 2010
agreed.
myztrySep 13, 2010
Microsoft is the embodiment of Steve Ballmer these days. Pompous, arrogant and ugly.
Microsoft had the resources and the talent. It's just needs to get the stench out to get away from this kind of thing.
hipmanSep 13, 2010
Funny, I was thinking of a different Steve.
chuklzSep 13, 2010
Kin is the only phone worth owning.
fengpostSep 13, 2010
This is almost funny, if it weren't so pathetic.
schrutefanSep 13, 2010
I can't wait to download security updates and service packs for my phone.
ndelangenSep 13, 2010
Every system has bugs and security breaches. iPhone OS being updated isn't only for adding new features, plenty of security-patches too.

I could understand getting excited about inventing... the lightbulb. Or the original telephone. You know, something really game-changing, something truly new.
Now people go off their meds over mere incrementalism. Sigh... how much farther can we fall. At this rate we'll soon be celebrating adding new buttons to applets, and then shortly after that we'll have parades just for showing up to work.

As a MSFT shareholder, I object to this embarrassing waste of company money and credibility. Oh wait, I forgot, I *sold* all my MSFT the minute I heard something called Android was going to be released. Sold at around $38 if I recall. Bye, bitches.
fuzzynyankoSep 13, 2010
I wonder if Microsoft paid for this, which by the way wouldn't be that much compared to their net income, or the employees did.
klasharSep 13, 2010
MS employees are such colossal nerds.
dylsonSep 13, 2010
You would think that would be the case in this line of business, right?
klasharSep 13, 2010
Nerd ! (necessarily )= Geek
blazingpcSep 20, 2010
That is great!!!! I still prefer the Droid but anything is better than Crapple tech.
