Reason 6. CUZ I WANT ONE

Because Apple functions under a sense of essentially planned obsolescence. While your previous gadget might work, they intentionally leave features out to push you in the rather short upgrade cycle.
A front facing cam for FaceTime would have been logical, but nooooo.

It's not just that, Apple believed that FaceTime was the "killer App" of the iPhone 4. The majority of their marketing campaign was based around selling FaceTime. They didn't add it to the iPad because the iPad could already be marketed as "magical"

exactly. apple has refined the process of extracting maximum cash from their customer's pockets, as evidenced by their massive profits. part of this process means adding as few features as possible to justify each new model. never include a feature this year that could be held back and used to justify the next year's model.

Apple, taking your money since 1976.
jacquelynekNov 3, 2010
We all gave them our money gladly. no one forced you. Apple rules. If you know how to upgrade intelligently you'll never feel like you've been taken. Apple's products last for a long long time and their trade-in value is very high.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

the mockup they chose looks like a 10 year old's learn-to-photoshop class project lol. but really, i think the number 1 reason should be price, at least give more for the same price range. the current ipad's hardware (except for the lack of a camera) can handle any of the load thrown at it, speed isnt an issue and neither is storage space for the most partComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I was tempted with iPad v1.0 but decided to wait till 2.0 and see what it has.

"There has been a lot of talk about the creation of a smaller iPad unit when the iPad 2 is released, with some speculation around the possibility of a 7” display version."
His royal highness Steve Jobs said Android tablets of 7 inch will be dead on arrival. Something has changed since?
I tend to agree with him a bit as 7 inch was not what I wanted , portable but not usable enough. Someone however will find them useful no doubt.
Im waiting for a cheap £250 android 10inch tablet with FLASH. Half the price and more features.

I may sound like an Apple fanboy, but whatever....
I love my iPad. It's been within 10 feet of me since 10:00 AM, April 30 (the day the 3G came out).
The engineers at Apple did an outstanding job for a 1.0 model. They obviously put a tremendous amount of thought into the design.
What I want to keep in version 2.0: 10 hour battery life. This is one of the most important parts about the iPad.
What I would like to see changed in version 2.0:
More RAM. It's not a problem now, but when ios 4.2 comes out, and multitasking ability is expanded, 256 is not going to cut it.
USB port. Having to attach the camera kit is stupid. Just install a micro or mini usb port.
Better browser with tabs.
What would be nice to have in version 2.0:
Faster processor (as long as it doesn't cut down in battery life)
Retina screen
Cheaper price (yeah, I know that's not going to happen)
As much as I love the iPad, I'm really looking forward to the Android tablets. I think they are going to be better and cheaper then the iPad.
