Although I wouldn't mind owning an iPhone, I don't want to be tied to AT&T. Am thinking my next phone will be Android.

You are delusional. Guess what? Most people don't give a f**k about smart phoens. THT is why they have just 25% of the market (most still being business use)
People with LIVES don't give a f**k. I realize you can't comprehend that fact.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

It's crazy to see Apple and Google owning a large share of the market when you consider they are relatively newcomers when compared to Microsoft, RIM, and Symbian.

The article has an no new information. Basically it says that smart phones use more apps and web than normal phones. Isn't that obvious?
Those of us with normal phones don't want to pay the data fees, are not interested in web or applications.
I don't see how any other conclusion could be reached.

Oh really? What's a smart phone? I've never heard of that. It sounds like a very complicated cell phone that doesn't offer any functionallity worth having. Oh, wait. You're joking right... You threw the iPhone into this pool of "smartphones"?
