And with each successive generation don't forget to add "Brag about vital function the previous model should have had in the first place"
balancedJul 7, 2010
What tech company doesn't do this?
jackcrack7Jul 7, 2010
Google.
bamatimeJul 7, 2010
Google. They got everything right from day one. It's not like a new phone isn't released every week one upping the previous version or anything. Did you also know that Android is on v1.0? Really. Why release any updates when it was perfect from the start?
jackcrack7Jul 7, 2010
The question wasn't what company had a perfect phone right out the shoot that wouldn't ever be improved. The question was what company doesn't create a product that is missing vital functions in one model and then shown off as revolutionary in a later release. When the iPhone was first released, it didn't support MMS, Copy/Paste, Multitasking, and many other core features that had previously been available on other smartphones for years. With each release, Apple has added in one of these core features and proclaimed it as being magical or revolutionary. Android 1.0 came with all of those features. That being said, they have made major improvements to it over time but a lot of what Google has done really has been revolutionary. A lot of the things that originally made the iPhone revolutionary were Google apps that were built for it.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

The next one will support flash and have a feature that allows you to hold the phone any way you want to.

Seeing how little comments there are i decide to post a comment regardless of the article in an attempt at short lived fame in the form of diggs. Only then realizing I don't have anything clever enough to get any. When this comment itself is a sad attempt at a clever idea that has already been done before. O the cruelty of digg comments.

Dugg for honestly of your lack of originality.

I will Digg you, as I have done before, only because I have seen that other Dugg you.

The "yellow screen discolouration" wasn't a problem, it was just the glue (or some other type of bonding agent) that hadn't had time to dry on the very first few shipments. It was gone within a few hours of use for those that experienced it.
ekulaJul 7, 2010
That's a problem in my opinion. No device should be sold unfinished.
I guess if I were a fanboy I would claim it to be a sign of "freshness".Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

The real problem are these yellow pictures I keep taking in my office.
doshindudeJul 7, 2010
yeah, because having 100% of your product be defective and make the fix cost $30 is an "improvement."
Stay classy, Apple fans.

they honestly should change it's name, seeing as how much the phone itself has changed. heck, it the original can't even support the new OS.
ekulaJul 7, 2010
The iPod hasn't changed a bit... nor the iMac or MacBook.
thebigbadJul 7, 2010
They should do the same thing with the iPod. The first had neither color or touch screens and were so different from modern versions. f**k the fact that iPod is synonymous with MP3 player for many people and Apple uses that fact to make millions upon millions of dollars, they should change the name.

Electronic device naming 101: you tack on a suffix.
Where have you been for the last few decades?
theonekenJul 7, 2010
They did. The original was called 'iPhone'. The new one is called 'iPhone 4'.
roy5000x2Jul 7, 2010
In other news, Apple makes a metric s**t ton of money off of the iPhone.

I had no incentive to upgrade from the original iPhone until Apple declared that iOS 4 wouldn't work on it. Now it looks like I'm going to have to upgrade if I want to use newer apps...

phillyocJul 8, 2010
Not trying to take sides here, but there are many models of Android phone that cost far more than the last 3 generations of iPhone.
tanethJul 7, 2010
Now we need an Android one of these
mavantixJul 8, 2010
You forgot to mention the iPhone 4's proximity sensor issue that makes it nearly impossible to have a conversation without pushing some random button:

The CPU specs in this article are kinda misguiding, cause Apple has underclocked all the CPUs about 200 MHz to conserve battery: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_iOS_devices#iPhone
