I can't stand Apple, but before Acer starts talking s**t they need to make a notebook/desktop that doesn't deteriorate in a year.

The reason Apple is successful isn't a fluke. Sure a certain percentage of Apple users buy because it's trendy but I honestly don't think that is the major reason Apple is successful. I moved to my First Mac around 7 years ago once OSX was becoming mature. As a geek who has been using computers since the mid 80's it was nice to have a computer where I didn't have to spend most of my time thinking about how it works, maintenance, and other things and could focus on what the computer could DO for me instead. With Windows 7 I think the gap in usability is closing but I still feel that for me personally the Apple experience is really great and for the most part everything just works. Your results may vary, use whatever suits your needs best.

Acer makes commodity tech that sells on features and price. They innovate in a linear manner (speed, size, ports, etc.) and have followed a 20-year pattern of the Dells, HPs and others who do the same thing. Apple comes along with disruptive innovation that creates or reinvents new channels, and these guys just aren't tooled to respond. What's more Apple pulls tech out of the commodity space and associates real brand value to it. Techs hate that the PC (in all its incarnations) has become like the car where what you use says who you are.
Acer - evolve or die...

I like my Mutant virus... well at least the iMac I bought for my 80 year old mother. Less worries about me having to do long distance tech support.

What would you rather have: market share, or revenue?

Apple wants your LIVER!!!

Wow, that is a great line but unfortunately Microsoft has been claiming open source systems were a virus for 9 years so this is hardly coining a new phrase. If the head of Acer prefers his closed source OS and knows how someone outside of Microsoft can patch its flaws, more power to him.
The dismissive comments read just like those of Michael Dell in the late 1990s when asked by the press what Steve Jobs should do newly returned to Apple, he said give it back to the stockholders (liquidate).
Well, Windows really did not grow and improve much during the next decade but Macs did.

The same Acer that makes Android Devices? Go figure...

Sounds like his complaint boils down to: Apple is innovative and makes stuff that people actually want to buy.
