Google can't figure out how to migrate this stuff to Youtube?
0xtremeApr 16, 2011
And that includes thousands of hours of documentary video's NOT available anywhere else... especially not on YouTube! :-( Damn.
hillsfarApr 16, 2011
Everyone, please share links to important Google videos that you think are significant enough to preserve. Thank you.

how exactly did google video fail? seems far better than youtube.
AnonanimalApr 16, 2011
Youtube had a bigger audience. Then Google bought youtube and completely stopped giving a s**t about Google Video.
antdudeApr 17, 2011Submitter
Why didn't Google merge it to YouTube?
thatmarioloverApr 16, 2011
Wow, no explanation or anything.
Closed AccountApr 16, 2011
What explanation do you need other than that no one goes there anymore? (or for the last half decade for that matter.)
It is a lot easier for Google to manage things on one site than two.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

So wait...to the idiots that buried me...are you suggesting I am wrong because you think people DO go to Google Video still, or that it ISN'T easier to maintain one site instead of 2?
Or did you just bury me because you don't like the facts that I said and you think that burying facts changes facts?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Dear Google. Why are you doing so much stupid "ish" as of late? Getting rid of Goog-411, doing away with Wave, helping verizon destroy any sort of net neutrality for cell companies, removing google videos that aren't available on the more popular sites yet heavily restricted such as your own youtube, hinting that the currently free google voice service will be a pay subscription service by 2012. You are already rich, so please quit trying to be apple.
michirican123Apr 16, 2011
No longer available soon?? *Head Explodes*
terkoApr 16, 2011
This is no good!
jonprophetApr 16, 2011
Darn! Guess I'll just have to upload my videos to YouTube now.
antdudeApr 17, 2011Submitter
You were still able to upload? I thought Google ended it months/years ago.
isuzu14bApr 16, 2011
disappoint
jerky1312Apr 17, 2011
A search for "documentary" on video.google.com's database results in over 30,000 videos. That is a lot of valuable information...

jerky1312Apr 19, 2011
Checked the link again today, the results went down by about 4,000 results.
jerky1312Apr 27, 2011
Checked again today and its down even further. It was 30,000, then 26,000 and now it is 12,700. I'm not sure if these videos are being deleted once the uploader downloads his video or migrates it over to youtube.
joeljoelgrApr 17, 2011
User's video content vs Live streaming. So, Google afraid of competition.
january14nApr 17, 2011
is there anyway we could transfer our google videos from youtube?
antdudeApr 18, 2011Submitter
Nope. You will have to download and upload manually!
carstvcentralApr 16, 2011

youtubes ok, I guess nothing lasts forever.
google maps pulled their real estate map feature a couple months ago.
Anyone else get the feeling google will soon be bare-bones free and charge for everything else considered a premium feature?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
chfilipinoApr 16, 2011
