Gingerbread will be much more tablet friendly. But I don't think Froyo is horrible on a tablet.
HotHardwareSep 12, 2010
Agreed... I've seen it on the Streak 5 and it's pretty nice there... Not quite a tablet but sure as heck more than a phone.

I will concur because I love U both! I am not Nerdy enough to express my feelings in this arena because I have not used this HOTHARDware!

Admits? It's more like stating a fact. Besides, they have already announced that Ginger will be more tablet friendly and it will also demand a more high end device. What's more, if they marketed Froyo (and to a lesser extent Ginger) as tablet friendly they'd probably dig a grave for Chrome OS which will probably be made for web tablets.

To be honest I would not buy a Chrome tablet. I'm not interested in keeping my data in the cloud.
sepelesterSep 14, 2010
I do like keeping my data in the cloud but I don't think web apps can compete with native apps just yet so I'd probably skip Chrome OS too.
It'd still be stupid to aggressively compete with your own products though.

Digg: knock Android, and plug Apple.
macparrotSep 13, 2010
Who here has knocked Android? More competition the better for everyone. Don't be so quick to judge

I thought they had said it wasn't perfect for tablets a while back. Isn't that part of their reasoning behind Chrome OS?
charlotte_webSep 13, 2010
Basically, Google hasn't figured out what to do with Android apps and the multitude of Android screen sizes.
esc27Sep 13, 2010
I wonder if they will block android from tablets (by denying support, etc.) to keep it from competing with Chrome OS.

The best OS for a tablet would probably be one designed for a tablet; not one designed for a phone or PC.
jeffdabeatSep 13, 2010
Apparently Net Neutrality isn't perfect for cell phones or tablets according to Google.
hermmunsterSep 13, 2010
That's the benefit of Open Source Software. Google may not give it the attention it deserves because it competes with Chrome OS, but the rest of the world + dog can add whatever they want. Apps can always be rewritten and Google could put the effort (which they blatantly are neglecting -- knowing that Apple had to do the exact same thing for the iPad) into ensuring that apps size properly to bigger displays and adjusts for various aspect ratios.
It's just Google's excuse.
