More like the back door that the US government requires US email vendors to put in their code so that the US government can read everyone's mail was the problem.
Look at the Windows NSA Key for example:

The US government since 9/11 has gotten too damn nosy for its own good. Foreign governments are using cable lines that don't go through the US and are using software developed out of the US to avoid again Uncle Sam getting in their business.
The whole practice by the NSA is horrible for US job growth and IT competitiveness. I'm frankly at times embarrassed to be an American living under a proto-fascist regime.

Google has given using Mac and iPhone as desktop and authentication device as examples of measures can take against malware.
Have they grown weary of waiting for Microsoft to upright its capsized platform?

We just have to be proactive and find a solution.

gmail and others could end spam and cyber attacks if they wanted to.if you have or want a gmail account you must verify your address, by sending a card to your home address with a code you enter into your gmail account to activate.problem solved.

that would be a highly valuable database when all the applications were in. don't get me wrong, your solution certainly hits the mark, but anything now that encapsulates personal data offers scope for nefarious activity.
