RIPP DIGG.. You will be missed..

Digg, you are f**king up more than any website in recent memory. This site has turned into a glorified rss spam feed. From what it seems, no normal user can get any links on the top news page. Their submissions remain on the my news page. This defeats what everyone loved about the old digg. Sure, Facebook can f**k up and lose a bunch of users, but they have half a billion members. Digg does not have that kind of user base to risk keeping something like v4 going. You will see the site fail if it continues like this in anyway.
Sure, fix some of the glitches and bring back a few old things. But that will not suffice. We care about those things, but they were not imperative to digg. The old submission and voting ways is what we all want back. Don't pull a s**tty cop out and discuss the little problems without even mentioning the real issues. Kevin, I'm talking to you. f**k you. And f**k digg v4.
- From the digg user guidelines -
"Don't spam.
You're not fooling anyone. Digg is not for commercial use. Please don't use Digg for selling or promoting products and services. If we discover that you're involved in Digging for profit we reserve the right to terminate your account permanently."
Looks like someone needs to terminate Kevin's account.

Brilliant comment by lago78:
Out of this entire, epic digg v4 meltdown, this is what I find most astounding:
Kevin Rose and company could have easily pulled this scam off. Now I ask you to actually read this and think about it:
Obviously, the most important change is the selling of the front page to various corporate media publishers. Make no mistake, this is what digg v4 is all about on a fundamental level.
If they had instituted this scam slowly, over the course of a few weeks, it may have gone wholly unnoticed. They COULD have dictated that, say, only 1 in 20 Top News spots gets whored out. You know, just slip in the mashable or endgadget or gizmodo swill OCCASIONALLY. And then, after a few days, crank the ratio up to 1 in 10....etc etc...until the whole front page was a 100% corporate spam fest, like it is now.
And If they were extra sly, they could have left it so that a LEGITIMATE article dugg up by actual users snuck in every once in awhile. You know, to throw us off the trail.
Frighteningly, that s**t would probably have worked. A few people would have noticed occasionally...but their voices would have been easily drowned out when they tried to call attention to it, because 99% of the user base would just assume it was digg as usual. Digg would certainly have smelled fishy....seem strangely and unnaturally boring...but people would be oblivious as to the real cause behind the drop in quality content. You know, how easy it would be to rationalize that the public at large was going through a lame phase, or somethng, and just happened digging up dumb s**t alot more than in the past. Could happen, right?
People would have keep using digg for months....YEARS....hoping in the back of their mind that things would get better, or wondering if they just imagined the whole change.. Kevin Rose and company would have made BUCKETLOADS of revenue. TONS.
BUT. That is not what happened. That is what would have happened if Kevin Rose and company had not indolently ASSUMED that we were complete idiot lemmings. No subtlety or foresight seemed necessary, I suppose, because users are just robots that will click on anything...right? Right? RIGHT???
Uh...not so right. Instead, this moron thought it would work to just sell out the ENTIRE thing wholesale, all in one day, with one click, leaving it obvious to the entire planet what had been done. Think about how stupid and irresponsible that is. The utter lack of planning and foresight and strategy. The oblivious arrogance.
And not only that, oh no. They decide to do it on the SAME DAY as a massive, heavily publicized design makeover, assuring that not only would even the slightest change be carefully scrutinized and analyzed by casual and expert user alike, but that the entire internet was sure to be watching.
So not only do they have a giant disaster. They have a giant heavily publicized disaster that has outraged millions simultaniously.
So dumb. SO DUMB. This is why the venture capitalists who invested in digg deserve to lose their money; putting trust in such inexperience.
This is why Kevin Rose and his team deserve to go down in internet lore the way that they will. That above all else is why this is perhaps the first time that a Darwin award should be awarded to a website.
The selling off of digg and the betrayal of its loyal community can ultimately be forgiven and forgotten.....chalk it up to simple shortsighted greed or poor business management. We all exhibit those flaws. But the catastrophically, HILARIOUSLY sad and lazy way in which it was instituted can be chalked up to nothing but utter stupidity.
As Antoine Dodson might say, seriously, you are so dumb. You are really dumb, for real.

Or simply have two columns side by side. The main one, 70% of user screen that is user submitted content. The other, right beside it that, say 30% screen width which is paid for and rotates.
But the biggest thing. DON'T f**kING LIE ABOUT IT, CALL IT LIKE IT IS.

Open Letter to Digg since their feedback function was not working:
"Ok guys, I have been an avid Digg user for several years now and I don't even have a desire to visit the site anymore. V4 has ruined my user experience and I have decided that I will move on from Digg if something doesn't change. This new UI is confusing, unintuitive, buggy and limiting. How the hell do you remove the bury button?! This helps us filter the s**t from the front page.
Stop giving in to corporate sponsored "articles" and have some damn integrity. The front page pisses me off every time I visit the site now. Over the past year I have seen the degradation of Digg as you have completely sold your soul and killed the community that made this site what it is. I hope you can come to the clear conclusion that if you want to win you need to stop spitting your faithful user base and build a site that can be profitable in a way that doesn't screw everyone over.
If you keep this up, we will leave. I have no doubt Digg will greatly suffer if you keep ignoring what us users want and need from our social media. Stop screwing us around and bring Digg back to life, it'll be sad if you can't fix things and I move on to something that hasn't got caught up in the money."
