I miss the days that there would be at least several hundred diggs and over forty comments, before I even clicked the story. :-(

Most agree with you. The old system seemed to be a better reflection of the digg users "will" on a story. Before the digg users were the only ones to submit content. The RSS feeds seem to negate the whole purpose of digg.
