What's even sadder lately are the digg v4 apologists, who act like they love new digg because they obviously don't seem to understand what old digg was. This website was the favorite place of millions of people to get their dose of social news. If I wanted to go to Reddit, I would have gone to Reddit. But I liked digg.
Someone needs to just rip off old digg and start a new website.

I'm no Digg apologist, I was very critical of them prior to the launch and certainly after, but at this point I would rather be an optimist than join the crowd of whiners, moaners and troll who are doing their best to take advantage of the situation, mainly to drive traffic to other sites. Digg is most definitely listening, and they know there are major concerns and problems or else they would not have fired their lead engineer today. Kevin said today that they are working as quickly as possibly to implement other/older features, but the primary focus at this point is stabilizing the site. We saw the big bounce up when the new version launched and now we are seeing the steady fall in page views, but at some point, that will likely level off. As improvements are made, those stats will improve, some older users will return and new ones will take the place of those who don't.
While Digg is not what I would call "user friendly", the group of people who do nothing to make it better by submitting and digging good content or contribute meaningful comments, yet simply post crap like "digg sucks", "f**k digg", etc. don't care about Digg. Most of them either gave up on Digg or never cared about it to begin with--and plenty of them are from Reddit.
If you are a Digg user who cares, do what you can to contribute now. If you have suggestions or identify problems let Digg know. Keep submitting content, digging and commenting. Digg might never get back to where it was, but it can only get better from where it is now if people try.

I disagree. If all the comments are truly negative about Digg and the rest are buried, I think Kevin et. al. will take more notice.

"If you have suggestions or identify problems let Digg know"
That's what we've been doing the whole time!:
- Revert to v3
- Turn off the f**king conveyor belt of spam and lame articlesComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

The only reason to come to digg anymore is to just laugh at the FP and go right back to reddit....

Does this mean cows will be fed stuff that no longer makes them flatulent? I mean, for global warming and all.

Reddit is self-congradulatory like watching the Emmy's.
