Have to split up the comment. Digg is acting up a bit.

I do know he writes a column for a well established 'zine", (in business since 1997), and he is also senior editor.

Because knew RJ was a writer I did, as a Digg Patriot, check his profile and was aware of the work he had done trying to flush out internet pedophiles. I'll admit, what I found was very confusing and in the end I wasn't sure whether RJ was battling real pedophiles or just some pretty strange people. But you are right when you say: "The content of the article does not come from Novenator or NJP, but is a culmination of things " The information rehashed in the NJP piece has been around quite some time. It's old news.

You also say: "Of course Novenator has a reason to specifically pick up on this, because of the Digg Patriots connection of R.J. Carter, but it's been happening (under RJ's other personas) for years, apparently behind even the other Digg Patriots' backs." and therein lies the rub.

Novie "is NJP’s Senior News Editor and Chief New Media Strategist" and in that role he caused this recap of old accusations and odd assertions to be published at this time hoping to capitalize on the dishonest piece he did on the Digg Patriots. He's hoping that by linking RJ to the DP's he'll give this questionable "story" additional momentum. He's also trying to get another cheap shot in at the DP's.

I'm not defending RJ. As i said previously I've seen the material from the NJP piece before and really couldn't make any sense of it. Looks to me like some folks started hurling accusations at each other, it got personal, and now it's just a mess.

I do know Novie and how dishonest his "journalism" is. Above I said we Digg Patriots think it's a laugh riot that Novie is representing that hundreds of DP's were burying thousands of stories and that free speech on Digg was threatened. We all know how seriously Digg took Novie, They didn't back him up at all and took no action against any DP.

There were,at best, 10 -15 DP's, (I was one of them), who buried subs and comments for political reasons. Too few to have any impact, a fact we often lamented in the emails Novie stole. Novie maintains he wants FULL DISCLOSURE of the DP emails he stole.Which means, once again, he's being dishonest.

The last thing Novie wants is all 6,000 emails released. It will only prove how dishonestly he represented the group, it's size, it's impact, and it's purpose.

I'm personally committed to confronting Novie and Anomaly, they appear to be the only folks who are still trying to profit from novies lies about DP, whenever I come across them trying to maintain the fiction that the DP's were suppressing free speech. Unfortunately folks who don't know the whole story, absent someone like me intervening, might very well believe Novies lies.

As for NJP, they've proven time and time again that they are a lower tier smear machine and nothing presented on the site should be taken at face value. The consequence of this is what you point out, because of their unsavory reputation, folks won't even read a piece appearing on the blog - they won't read and if they won't read it they won't judge it on it's own merits.

It' unfortunate that NJP and certainly Novie are held in such disregard but they only have themselves to blame. When you mark as "achievements" the fruits of dishonesty and a barely concealed agenda, you can hardly blame folks for not trusting you.
