engadget.com — T-Mobile is calling it "the fastest smartphone experience in America," but as it turns out, its Qualcomm Scorpion CPU is actually relatively slow -- the cellular carrier's insider newsletter T-Mobile Scoop says the phone's MSM7x30 chip will be clocked at 800MHz, rather than the 1GHz we'd hoped for. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that T-Mobile lying about speed, as anyone who's upgraded from Droid to Droid 2 very well knows -- bloatware can easily clog the pipes even on phones running Froyo, and we've heard that this particular HTC device is running a pure vanilla Android build. Speaking of delectable operating system revisions, T-Mobile confirms you'll indeed find Android 2.2 under the hood accompanied by Flash Player 10.1, as well as "one-touch quick keys" the carrier claims provide Speedy Gonzales-like access to apps and shortcuts. Still waiting to be confirmed: a $200 subsidized price, and the day we'll see it in stores.

So what?
thediggpiggSep 2, 2010
Now we've got non publishers linking to publisher sites getting on the frontpage? Hit me back when Digg 4's new "algorithm" includes more than just 10 sites.

It's like sloppy SEO seconds

i actually used to read engadget articles when they made it to the front page legitimately. now, i don't trust anything on digg unless it came from reddit.
drumbum4bSep 2, 2010
Well maybe you should just keep your opinion to yourself and just make the switch to reddit... IF its so much better

Title made me grin. Looking forward to 'more bush' as you let that baby run its course into unkempt territory. (But looks delicious now, don't get me wrong!).

MMMmmmMMmmmm!!! You look deliciously reminiscent of my ex-girlfriend (please tell me you don't live in Ohio...). She turned me into a believer when it comes to going natural. We parted company recently, but your submission made me smile! Absolutely perfect -don't change a thing!!!

Hi, I'm from Digg. What is this?
dastylocSep 2, 2010
We've all been shocked and saddened by the earthquake that's hit Digg and based on the trending reddit links since the quake hit, it's clear many of you are anxious to help. I got to talking with a redditor , specializing in just this kind of disaster recovery and as we saw on the reddit frontpage today, sending anything but love is detrimental to the relief effort right now.
Here's the reddit DirectRelief fundraising page. We've set an ambitious goal of love because we know you're up to the challenge, reddit. Even if you can't donate right now, you're helping with an upvote.
And here's the best part, we'll be getting photo/video/text updates from the field on the http://www.reddit.com/r/gonewild reddit so you can see just how your love is being used as well as keep up with their work in the days, weeks, and months to come.

Good to see the real keyboard in the G2 but I'm not sure if the 800MHz will be enough for 2.2, even in its vanilla state, people will customize and add apps. I fear a slow down is inevitable.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

800 MHZ? Come on guys. I switched to T-Mobile when the G1 came out and I have had almost no problems with their service (IE the signal is great). But my concern is that there Android phones are so far behind and they haven't been pushing out updates. My girlfriend's cliq is still on 1.5 and to the best of my Knowledge this "G2" is their first Android phone with 2.0 or better.
dfarqSep 2, 2010
Agreed. I'd like to get an Android phone, but I'm seeing a lot of stuff that's running 1.5 or 1.6, some of it with no upgrade path. If I'm going to use the phone for two years or (probably) longer, I want to start out with something current.
